So currently im an east coast skier and needed to get to a bigger park / pipe mountain. My uncle lives in tahoe, so i could ski at heavenly for the winter. I was wondering if they had a team or some kind of park program ?

This belongs in California Regionals.  Heavenly is nothing great but it is better than the East.  Nothing too steep compared to other places in Tahoe, okay park, lots of gapers/visitors, and a huge fucking mountain, I think it is over 4,500 acres.  I would go to Sierra before Heavenly.  If you can ski in North Lake, then do that.  Definitely hit Squaw, Alpine, Northstar, and I hear Boreal has a good park.  If you are stuck in South Lake, go for Sierra, if you are stuck at Heavenly, I would still go because you will get the chance to hit other resorts around Tahoe and it is still better than the East.

very well put. i am a multi-year season pass holder at Heavenly and i can testify to this. They have a 7.5/10 parks(5) with somewhat innovative features. their steeps are not to steep. they are impressive and come with a redicules view of Carson Valley, for which i happen to live in. The mountiian is like practicaly 5,000 acres covering two states. the food their is overpriced, like many resorts, and tastes mostly like cardboard. There are a lot of gapers and a shit load of people after 11:00, but hey gapers are fun to spray with a nice rooster tail, right? But if you decide to go somewhere alse than you nust go to Alpine Meadows, on the east side of tahoe, Sqaw, and Sierra-at-Tahoe. hope this helps man. Still go because we are better than the east.

I rode with the coach of the Squaw freestyle team at Mammoth closing weekend.  Super nice guy and a great skier.  Just check out all the websites for the big resorts around there.  From what I know, Squaw has a really good program and they have an awesome park.

yeah, squaw is probably the best mountain in that area. kirkwood is pretty sick too, if you can get out there. however, their park doesn't have the largest features; it's still a really fun park though!

I'm pretty sure Squaw is on the EXACT opposite side of the lake as Heavenly, but I think it is like an hour drive to Squaw from Heavenly.

Heavenly's head coach Ed McClain is the man and if your lookin into gettin into the program it'd be a good choice to ride for Heavenly freeride program there mtn is the best but the coaching is good and they take you to all the resorts around Tahoe. Where you movin to South Lake?

I hope you dont plan on skiin heavenly on the weekends. i always leave the mountain pissed off due to overpopulation

Ed is a nice guy, but doesnt build parks nor has he at heavenly... the parks managers have been, Day franzen (now kingvale), rob Guistina (now on course events) and curently for past 3 yrs in charge Mike Thomas.
