im planing a trip out west this winter and im trying to find out witch mtn has the best back country style mtn.  lots of pow. and maybe some big mtn stuff. thanks

since your looking for pow and backcountry id say alta/snowbird would be a good choice.  jackson hole would be another very good trip.  others i would suggest would be Squaw and Whistler

... you cant really tell someone that. Thats like saying, when you are eating clam chowder you can't think about chili. He could be skiing big mountain out west and you are saying he shouldn't think about park, but it doesn't mean he can't. I think the thread creator should just come to Utah, you can ski easy access BC if you know your shit, there is a lot of epic inbound terrain, and if the weather is shitty there are decent parks.

Mhm fo sho. Crystal is amazing, i used to go there for spring break for like ten years in a row. It was sunny during the day, cold and dumping at night. I was never disappointed, except theres no park at all. But if you want bc powder runs crystal has some of the best terrain i have ever skied. The best part is almost all of it is really easy to get to, the most guidance you ll need is a chair ride wit a local and a point of the finger. They also have condos right on the slope for pretty cheap.

Ok. I have had enough of this ignorance. Baker erupted huh? Oh, you're right of course. You must be talking about that awful eruption is 1870! That sure scared all those skiers away! Oh wait.....Look, it hasn't erupted in 140 years, it holds the WORLD RECORD, yes WORLD, for most snowfall in one year, and lift tickets are $40. So stop the stupidity.

ski bumming is hard here, but it is doable.  jobs here pay really well, even shitty ones like bussing tables.  and if you work at the resort in the winter then you're all set pretty much.
