Need camcorder help!

So this season me and a few friends are going to be working at a ski hill, skiing everyday, and would like to get a good camera and make a sweet ski film.

We are going to get a Vholdr ContourHD helmet cam, but if anyone can tell me why I should not, feel free.

So here is the question. We are going to be doing a lot of ski mountaineering type stuff, so the less size and weight the better. I was looking at the Canon Vixia HF200. Its a good HD camera, gets good reviews, has good low light performance, good user interface, and is small. I really don't want a big "pro" camera, just because of the size and weight, but any suggestions are welcome.

well the hv30 and the hv30 are also great sd and minidv cameras. ad its HD. and if anyone happens to find an actuall site that carries refurbished ones for cheap...pm me! or post it on this thread, because samys.com is out.

I do not know a lot about the hf 200 but i do own an hv30 and i will never go back. The footage is great and you don't need a top of the line computer to edit with it. My friend owns a canon hfs100 which is a nice camera ,very light and small nice HD picture. The only thing i don't like about it is it's flash memory i think the hf200 is so when you got like 500 clips you take in a day you have to watch every single one that is why i believe in mini dv especially in sports like skiing, skateboarding where you record 30 mins but all you want is the land which is only 20 seconds. The hf200 is ACVHD which requires a lot of computer power to edit. I would say either go with the hv30 or hv40 if you want native 24p then go hv40 all these camera's are all small in size so nothing to worry about.

the hv30 footage is the one with all the fisheye shots so the ones with vignetting and the hfs100 are the long lense shots and others. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHgc_7z2zzE
