Alright, so i can finally drive alone, and i've been driving stick and i fucking love itt

Well i was watching Ken Block, and im hooked

teach me your tricks NS, I've fish tailed and what not in my rear wheel drive beemer, but im scared im going to break it (1992 with 215k miles on it). and i've messed around in my awd audi, but its hard cuz its got really good control

fish tail is when you swing the back of your car. its not like full on drifting where the whole car slides, just your tail end slides

if you crash and almost die and explain to the rents "i wanted to be like ken block" they will most certainly take away your car

drive fast, make bad choices, and perpetuate the insurance ass raping we all get.










jk. its all a feel you just have to gradually work shit out, start on dirt or snow (not ice snow) you can break traction easier and hold a slide at a lower slide. This lets you get more comfortable before having to go balls out on pavement. before you know whats up dont do anything around other cars, its better to total your car in a ditch then total your car along with two other peoples.

IMO leave the beamer be, with that many miles your just asking to break shit.

no no, im a safe driver, my brother and my dad are very good drivers and i've learned from them. i mean i dont do stupid shit, i know better than that. I know a kid who was high and tried to drift and he flipped his car. I would only do this stuff in a empty parking lot or something

yeah thats why i stopped messing with it.

I think i broke the shocks actually. The shock is like held in at the top of the wheel thing in the back. and it broke out and went through the whole in the trunk (its really hard to explain). basically, the shock was sticking through the wheel well and into the trunk and was making noise. me and my dad thought something was in the drunk knocking around. the mechanic figured it out

drifting is not worth it. to risky and terrible for tires and the car. yeah, i like to go fast in my 01 2.7L turbo charged audi a6, but i dont wanna ruin the fuckin thing... not to mention if you get into an accident then your insurance will go way up and youll get buttraped most likely. driving safe without doing stupid shit is the best way to go

haha my friend is a stupid motherfucker and we have this neighbrhood with a huge mansion in it with a fun circuit around it. anywhoo he just drifted around a corner yesterday and smashed their mailbox then it smashed his windshield and cracked his radiator and i think bent his rim. it was funny because he is stoopid

i'd suggest getting someone who knows what they're doing in the car with you instead of trying to learn from text on the internet. If i see a thread in a few months from you that says "i just got out of a coma" i'll know what happened haha. but in all seriousness you can think you're a good driver all you want but i just repayed my dad for crashing the car when i thought i was in complete controll and ken block himself rolled his car in the x games this year so be safe and learn slow. stock cars aren't meant for this stuff.

Take it to a track or do an autocross race.  Don't be another stupid 16 year old who thinks they're a rally driver/formula d racer.  Just because you can drive a manual doesn't mean you're a pro.

im no pro, im not trying to be cocky. I've just been told im a good driver from friends who drive or have driven with other people. i know i obviously dont have the experience and such that others do

but yeah, i would kill to bring it to a track, no idea where i would go.

Yea except im just not sure that its a true fishtail when fuckin with allwheel. I was swangin my brothers jeep cherokee way easier in 2D rather than 4WD. I know what you mean by the full drift though. I think its just a little more controlled. But definitely no fishtailin in a frontwheel. I pull my e-brake in my saturn, can turn it a 180 but that shit aint really fishtailin.

Heres a driving tip:
So you're approachin the onramp of a freeway, boutta merge with plenty of traffic. It's runnin at an average of about 70 MPH (I'm from northern california sac area). It is ideal to be going faster than traffic when you get onto the freeway so you won't cause a whole slinky effect of braking, and you can just flat out make moves. Some jerk off in a toyota Prius, along with 3 cars behind that are takin the onramp slower than a baseball game. You're fitted to be goin slower than a semi-truck if you follow at this speed. What do you do? You go even slower than the slow. Let them get well ahead of you. Who cares if Miguel is right behind you shakin his fists out the window of his chevy Astro van while hollering out incomprehensible foreign slang cuss words. Finally these gupps are well enough in front of you where you just flat out mash on the accelerator and get yourself up to the speed that is necessary. (I prefer around 75-90 depending on your runway time) Now by the time you merge you are well past the semis and are switchin lanes witta blunt in your mouth. Then you can slow back down to whatever you're feelin.

wait until there is a dusting of snow & then find the biggest/most open parking lot...start practicing controlled slides, long drawn out doughnuts, slid out figure 8s, etc. practice losing control of your car (spinning out) and recovering. You need to be able to slide that bitch all around like it's second nature. think of this like a tramp sesh before you throw down a new trick - you need to gain that "air awareness".

just be careful that a) there aren't cops around obv & b) there aren't any pot holes etc in the parking lot. you slide your car sideways over a pot hole and you can probably kiss your rim (and maybe axle) good bye.

if you truly want to become a better driver, go to the next autocross in your area, guarantee you there is at least one a month if you are near any metropolitan area, and call ahead a week before, and see if they have whats called "driving school". the day before the race, certain drivers are qualified to teach basic skill sets, and you get a crash course in driving for 30 bucks which includes entry in the following days race, where you can drive the shiit out of your car.
