Skiing today is about as diverse as baseball. Most people dress the same act the same do the same tricks and ride the same places. I think we've all progressed far enough that wearing tight pants shouldn't matter. We need to branch out and explore what skiing really can be. Does it have to be a sw dub 12 on a huge jump, or can it be something different? Snowboarding is just starting to respect the riders who may not be doing the most technical trick but looks really good on camera, or is in a location where no one has ever been before.
So what do you think. Would you rather see the same thing over and over again just huger and more unaccessible? or would you rather see something really smooth and unique that's different from everyone else?

going bigger is sick, dont get me wrong, but I think that a smoother trick is much better than a hucked one

Ur making it sound like everyone is doing dubs and "spinning to win" when really alot of people are taking things in new directions. examples
1.Nimbus Crew- crazy swicth pow stuff bringing style and innovation into technichal backcountry lines
2.Travelling Circus-Andy Perry Will Wesson just watch an episode and tell me you didnt see something progessive
3. Brady Perron, Mike Hornbeck, Max Hill and countless others are taking style and skiing to different extremes all unique.

The state of skiing is alive and well and if you dont believe me then go out on your first day and see that despite the fact that everyone wears tall tees and crowbars at the end of the day nobody cares because they all love it for what it is

^Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to say everyone is doing the same thing.
I know people do other stuff. I'm just curious what people think about it.

This whole progression thing is a joke, just let it happen and quit trying to force it. Unless you are trying to go pro or something just do whatever feels right, fun and satisfying and let things work out how they will~

I get what your saying, but I agree with ^.  It will just happen.  The movement has always favored style over just degree of difficulty IMO.  If you do a 10 with a fast sketchy rotation and no grab, it isn't going to look as good as something with less rotation and a sicker grab.  The elite guys are so much fun to watch because you could pause their footage anywhere in a segment and the shot would make a great poster.  Regardless of where "Progress" takes it, Steeze will always be king.

it depends on what kind of progression youre looking at. if youre thinking of it as larger spins and more flips, well then i think were backtracking, cause aerial skiers have been doing that for a reallly long time, and it isnt steezy enough for our culture.

id like to see new grabs, and way more tech shit, like, taking something you would never even think of jibbin, and murking it.

This trend has been around for some time.

Theres the regular comp riders throwing the tech dubs and big spins with clean grabs.

The hyphy rail guys killing it on handrails and in the park in edits and just keeping everything they do as styley and clean as possible.

Pow and big mountain riders pushing the tricks there - Pollard, Seth, Pep etc.

Stylish guys taking things in a fresh direction such as Andy Parry and Laurent Favre.
