Cal was overrated that year, I even thought it was a bit much putting us at 9 to start the season... We had just come off a 8-4 season with a 7 point victory in Las Vegas over BYU... and with a QB who had never took a snap against a FBS/D1A program. I didnt think it made much sense that Cal was to be ranked 9th. Cal made up for it and went 9-3 on the year, and then absolutely crushed TAMU in the Holiday bowl by an absolutely ridiculous margin...
The first 5 games of that 2007 year though.. we really were the best team in the nation... and runs like this against your beloved Vols proved that...
Yeah.. I dont think anyone can say Camp Randall doesnt know how to get the groove on...
We suck, but the games are fun as hell.
Ha, and I love how Oregon was getting so much hype from sports critics going into this year as being THE team in the Pac 10 with the most legit chance to dethrone University of South Central... Then they go off and get embarassed in Boise on the first game... Goodbye BCS for you OU...
California is the only team in the pac10 with an actual chance of knocking off USC this year... Period.

Theyre still gonna lose this year in the canyon...
The Canyon is what Cal's stadium is nicknamed (its actually nicknamed strawberry canyon, but that takes too long to say half the time). It's the stadium where USC lost, and caused that huge discrepency between LSU's national championship, and USC's AP national championship back in 2003.
I hate the BCS too... Cal's ONLY LOSS in 2004 came on the last play of the game at the LA coliseum against USC... where they lost by a TD. To this day, I still see it as one of the best game's of the last decade, and probably the game that allowed Aaron Rodgers to be seen as a Rd. 1 draft pick.. he threw 23-23 to start the game. He was absolutely lights out. USC basically won the game on special teams because they just kept ending up with really good field position... they never started off a series behind their own 30 yard line. Cal on the other hand always had bad field position, and yet still barely lost. It was the best loss I ever saw lol.
anyways.. REGARDLESS of that game.. Cal was denied a chance to go to the Rose Bowl to play michigan, because Mack Brown pleaded Texas's case to the pollsters and SOMEHOW put #7 or 8 2-loss, Texas above #4, 1 - hard fought loss to national champion, USC - California... Cal was so pissed off about it that they didnt even really give a shit about the holiday bowl they were given and basically gave the win to Texas Tech... Meanwhile Texas played what was a great game against michigan in the Rose Bowl, but they still did not deserve that spot... I cant wait for Cal to get thier shot to rip the everloving shit out of Texas... We wrecked shit on their rivals TAMU a few years back with a sub-par, 7 win team... If Cal played Texas this year, it would be the scariest thing burnt orange ever saw... Because Cal has Jahvid Best... the 2nd coming of Regge Bush.
So yeah Fuck the BCS and USC and Texas... haha.
