i made this hat in like a total combined time of 4 hrs. i crochet it. you can find instructions and stuff on the net.

ok, yes, crochet is faster and easier, but it isnt as thick and warm. here are some helpful websites.

here is the pattern i used (i made up my own for the ear flaps)

the pattern is the 'singe crochet hat' thing on there. it really helps if you know someone who knows how to do this cuz its hard to learn without seeing it done. but the sites help.

it is a fad, was knitting popular with kids or anyone at all outside of retirement homes 5 years ago? no. it was for little old ladies. now everyones like knitting is great, i made a hat. there are yarn shops doing well... it is old but only recently popular and wont remain so. knitting is a fad for all intensive purposes.
