Oxycodone aka oxycontin, is a shitty, terrible drug + government conspiracy

ive had friends who got addicted to that shit and 2 things happened

they got so ugly they started to look like scarecrows

and their brain turned to fucking mushh

i have other friends addicted to other pks like hydrocodone and hydromorphone and fentanyl and they are all still sharp as a knife upstairs and havent changed at all looks wise, although they are addicted

the government conspiracy part is that they hide these side effects, what ever they are, because they can make billions by taxing drug companies who make oxycodone, especially if oxycodone becomes the new fix for former heroin addicts.  Oxycodone is synthesized from thebaine,  a toxic side product of the opium poppy. Instead of throwing away this thebaine shit, they chemically change it into oxycodone but in my opinion oxycodone has the same side effects as thebaine, which is hot flashes, feeling like your head is swollen, and motherfucking brain damage.

I think the fact that thebaine would otherwise be thrown away is why oxycodone is made from it. Most of the good, choice opiate painkillers are synthesized from morphine or fully synthesized, and I think the thousands of tons of this biproduct shit called thebaine is too tempting for them to not make a drug out of.

I hope this isnt too much,  this is simply my honest opinion and i think this information is good for people to know. Drug companies dont give a fuck about you, so dont think every pill is not gonna do bad things to you.

anybody else have views on this?

The fact that you say oxy is bad is because it comes from thebaine (which is toxic), doesnt make sense.   When you change even one atom on a molecule, it takes on completely different reactivity.

.....but yeah, oxy is bad

Yah in the US they give heroin addicts pills to stop having the withdrawals from it, but the pills pretty much are the same as heroin. So eventually if they dont have the pills they have even worse withdrawals than they initially started with, so they just take away the heroin, wich is not a legal goverment drug, and they cannot tax, and give them a legal drug that does the same thing to them, wich they can tax.

In Amsterdam they have rehab houses wich addicts stay and only get small doses of heroin for free, but they get less and less each time so they are less dependant on it. So eventually they have no withdrawals and can become clean.

like i said, ive just seen what it has done to people who took it over long periods compared to people who did other pks over long periods. I feel that if long term use fucked up peoples mental capacity, then short term use definitely does some sort of damage also

it is a very serious and very strong drug that should only be used in the right circumstances.

Most people do not use it in the right circumstances, and this leads to bad results and consequences. People who get addicted to it are at fault in addition to the drug itself. Everything should be used in moderation, and at the appropriate time. 9 times out of 10, i would have to assume that mis-use results from a person either a.) not using it in moderation or b.) using it for an inappropriate reason

tbh...  addiction to something like pain killers isnt so much the drug its more the person's mental state.  yes, long term use of anything can royally fuck you up but getting addicted starts with the person usually, not the drug.

my sister was in the army and she started crushing it up and snorting it and ran away from the army and got arrested so i mean i dont think its the greatest thing on earth, but realistically it helps a lot of people and just because it has toxic ingredients doesn't mean it should be banned. anything in excess is bad so its not just Oxy

one of my really close friends died from an OD on the stuff our junior year of high school, and i haven't touched it since then.  however, i definitely don't see it as being inherently "bad", and certainly not a "government conspiracy".  you just need to make sure you know 100% what you're doing, and know the risks involved with any of that shit.

I don't have any statistics to back this statement up, but I bet you more people are addicted to oxy (which they obtain legally thru prescription), than any other drug (exluding alcohol).

I have lost some good friends to this drug... it sucks.

cigarettes dont fuck up your head and neither do most pk's  but oxy is different from my experience im not saying drugs are bad i just think that taking oxy for pain is as healthy as taking heroin for pain it wont kill you but there are much much better things out there, i know doctors who say the same thing about oxy being a fucking trash drug

i have a friend that was hooked to oxy...  (tore all the ligaments in his knee at the same time and broke his leg) but even he says now, it was all a mental thing for him....  he kept thinking he needed the drugs and it really wasnt anything else.  thats just him though.

i know plenty of people hooked on oxys, other pks, and dope and all opiates are basically the same addiction wise, the person that made this thread is an idiot to think oxycodone is worse than morphine, dilaudid, fentanyl, heroin or any other strong opiate

three cracked ribs, a torn acl, screwed up mcl and tcl, and a torn achilles tendon...  at once.  i tried vicodin, perks, and oxy was the only thing that made it bearable...  i used it for the week it was perscribed and when it said no more refills, i didnt go to get more and i just used tylenol...  thats were the problem really is, is when people dont follow the label cause they think they need more.  but thats my personal experience so i guess it may not fit with everyone.

i guess ill say this and hope it clears it up.  i understand addiction is a bitch but the idea that oxy is part of a government conspiracy is fucking stupid.  its like saying obama is the anitchrist, bush is the second coming of hitler, and that JFK wasnt killed and is still alive...  kinda ludacris and out there.

im about to do a drug study on oxycodone... 3 weeks, 4 different multi-overnight sessions.. they are testing a newer, less addictive version of the drug. I have never really done any sort of opiate recreationally. I am also very poor and cant get a job. the pay out for 21 days of work is $5400. pretty hard to pass up.

actualy a lot of recreational drugs have excelent aplications in medicine ... adderall for example is chemicaly identical to "speed"... which helps many people adhd/add concentrate in school or help with narcolepsy and chronic depression.

its all about the dose... opiates are great painkillers but have the potential for addiction; but that does not mean that we should get rid of them or ...or blame the government for some reason.

do you even know what dilaudid is? it is an opiate that is 20x as strong as oxycodone, please do not say that oxycodone is worse than other opiates when i can list 4 that are stronger and fuck you up more when you are addicted, just because you know a few people that have got fucked up from something does not mean that shit is the worst thing ever created, there are chemicals much worse than oxycodone, trust me

this is the issue that the haters aren't grasping...

oxy's are incredibly easy to get prescribed to you. Any junkie with half a brain can get their doctor (or most clinics) to prescribe them oxys by complaining about chronic pain in 'X' bodypart.
