X Games Mute 3

I remember hearing/ reading about someone, a long time ago, winning the X Games with a Mute 3. Is this correct, and if so, who was it, and what year?

Just curious to see if skiing really has progressed that much in so few years.

Agreed!!!  Awhile back I was looking for that footage of Cusson's unnatural switch 7.  That was the first time I ever saw someone hit a jump switch except for an old James Bond flick.  If JF had just done a switch 1 or 3, it would have still been impressive.  No one else went off switch in that comp.  It would be so sick to get footage of that comp posted on here.  I even tried getting it from JF.  It's not on EXPN.  I'd say that comp pretty much defined the birth of New School, or at least showed it to the world for the first time. 

When I saw JF do his switch unnatty 7, I couldn't have been more blown away if an alien space craft landed in my front yard.  It was huge!!!!  Mega K to anyone who can dig up vid of the 1st winter X.

stuff like the best whip contest is what really pisses me off. its like a half hour of guys doing the same trick. Its so dumb. who actually enjoys watching that?pretty soon its all gonnna be moto x. they should bring back wakeboarding too.

Bernie said it already but I'll say it again: JF's switch 7 was spun to the right, back when no one was even thinking about spinning "unnatural." I don't think even JF knew what he was doing, it was probably just felt right at the time.

As for Moseley's mute 3, he won the freestyle gold at the 1998 Olympics with it. I remember watching it on TV with my best friend. It was the first time I ever saw someone grab his ski.

To the dude making fun of Moseley's clips...

He was talented enough to progress the sport- my guess is that you will never have that impact on skiing.

nothing against Moseley it was just the first video that came up when i typed upright aerials, just throwing out that skiing was dying at that time, the mike douglas, jf cusson, jp and others helped the sport get away from that
