Will carpet work for a summer set up??

will capret work for a summer set up and if it does, do u still put like water and soap or detergent on it?

It probably wouldnt slide well, just use astro turf and some orange construction fence + soap and water. It works miracles. But...you could land on it fine.

Join the cult Build-A-Jib 101 Its got plenty of threads in there about this sort of stuff, but i think the answer is you can, but it'll slide quicker if you use the turf and construction fence method. Hoped this helped!

you  can buy astro turf at any lowes or home depot
just look in outdoor carpeting and if you see anything green that's probably it

i had some old carpet in my basement and wasnt astro turf or anything, just regular carpet. i set it up the other day with some friends and we put a jump at then and a little rail and i  just soaked it with the hose and it worked fine. if you have some carpet then i would try it first, but if you're gonna buy something then i'd stick with the safe bet and get turf.

i got that much at Loews for about 20. i land on carpet and as long as its wet it slides, but it does get really heavy and its important to dry it.

I just use astro turf, we use detergent and water but you need a hill and it works fine

the cheapest astro turf works fine. I got my turf at menards for $0.22 cents a square foot and it works perfectly.

Sisal might be pretty good or any sorta natural product.

Or for people who dont know flooring then the scratchy carpet made out of basket type stuff.

Wouldnt know though and buying it would be stupid but if you got some lying around then give it a shot.

i have astro turf on the in run but for my landing i use carpet, which lets you ride away pretty easy. If it helps i put plastic underneath my turf so when i water it it doesnt ruin the wood..

Turf and carpet is pretty much a waste of time and money.  Some carpets may work better than others, but you have to use a shitload of water and soap to make them slide; then when you hop onto a PVC rail with soap on the bottom of your skis, it can be too slick. 

The best stuff I have seen for drop ins is plastic lattice fencing sold at Home Depot.  They sell it in 4 x 8 and 2 x 8.  You can screw it directly to your frame so you really don't even need to buy plywood.  You don't need to use water on this stuff.  For the jump, construction fence on top of dirt with a layer of plastic in between like lawn and leaf bags.  That keeps the dirt from getting on the top side of the fencing. For the ski out, construction fence works great.  If you're putting it on top of dirt, put plastic down.
