Shotgun rail ruined my life

So yesterday and today I spent over 6 hours creating a pretty sick PVC shotgun rail at my friends house.  We were going to use it at my house on my summer set up so I tried to load  it into my dads car it looked like the rail was just barely going to make it in.  It went from the back of the car to near the windshield.  So as I try to close the trunk the the door barely hits the rail and sends it into the windshield making a huge crack across the windshield. My dad was super pissed and im in so much trouble.  I owe him like 250 dollars that was supposed to be ski money and Im grounded for a while.  To top it all off my first day of school is tomorrow.  FML

MY parents dont want to make a claim on their insurance because then their rates will go up so they are making me pay

shotgun rail ruined your life? think of what else could had happened it could have fallen out the bike while driving and hit a car behind you and ruin their life... that sucks but look at the positive

dont worry bro, I did something very similar stealing a gym bench from my highschool a few years ago.

I was driving my beat up suburban, and we loaded the bench in, and it was so long it had to sit on top of the 2 rows of seats, pressing against the front windshield, and it was sticking out of the back window with the gate up. We didnt even make it out of the parking lot before I hit a speed and the rear gate swung down and shattered the rear windshield on the bench... which then pushed the bench forward and cracked the front windshield. 2 windshields at once.....

needless to say my dad was prettty pissed.

when i saw the title i thought you bagged yourself badly

but the whole insurance, they would pay but the insurance would go way up for him as a driver so its probably cheaper in the long run if you just put out cash to get it fixed

that sucks, i'm acutally planning on stealing a bench from our school as well haha, after stealing one of those huge construction PVCs from my school to build a mailbox rail i feel pretty confident we can pull it off

haha that same thing happened to me like a month ago! I was headin home from home depot with some 12 footers to make a box and one cracked the windshield, and it cost around 200 to replace.

Damn that sucks man, try strapping it to the roof next time.

And yeah, that is abit harsh since you didn't exactly break the window purposely, and it should be covered by insurance anyways.

my mom had an excursion an i forgot that in order to close the right doo in the back you had to close the left first and the the top door, well i closed it right, left, top and shattered everywhere, i didnt get in troble tho, just thought id share..

i did this exact same thing last year except with a street sign.  my friend and i decided it would be a good idea to steal a street sign (it wasn't a good idea).  We put the pole part of the sign in first, closed the trunk, and it went right through the windshield.  lesson learned.

Haha.  Crime really doesn't pay. Still sucks though.

For mobile setups, I think you all should just attach wheels to the rail and a trailer hitch.  Just tow the rail to where ever, unhitch and jib.  Problem solved.  No more cracked windshields.  Could you imagine how funny it would be to see some guys going down the highway, towing their whole summer setup?
