Who else here is tired of mash-ups?

I am definitely not the only one tired of hearing Shook Ones pt.2 over a random indie rock song (you get the point lol).

Not hating, but mash-ups are kinda saturating the NS music world now.

Anyone agreeing?

Disclaimer: This is my opinion, not an undeniable truth (well maybe ... lol)

Haha.  I was considering making this thread the other day.  I agree, too much mash-up talk.  I like some girl talk and a few mashups but its getting a little ridiculous. I'm so sick of mash-ups in general now.  So many of them are so poorly done I just hate it.  I think girl talk does a great job but otherwise its just annoying/hype.

I hate this cuz I try to find the real song to MAKE mashups, I will never grow tired of mashups, and for those who still like em my album is dropping just in time for ski season!

disagree. There is just as much music coming out in every other genre, mash up is just getting really popular right now, it will slow down. But there is so much good stuff coming out right now its great.

for example: radiohead-reconer(the twelve), Don Diablo vs Phoenix vs Jay Z - 99 Fences , excision lil wayne dubstep remix, the hood internet. Not excactly the same style as girl talk and stuff, but its still mash up.

Mash ups are big on blogs right now, but it's all getting the same ...
and it's not a "new" trend:
2manyDJs did some wayy more interesting stuff around the times of the "As Heard on Radio Soulwax" series ... they stopped doing mashups tough
A-Trak and his Dirty South Dance mix cd, Z-Trip, etc.

mashups are the worst. skiing videos usually have terrible music. i mute them and just let my itunes play.

Cant agree, everyones got different taste when it comes to music and clothing and lifestyle but what I like about Mash-ups is that it is several songs, which brings something new to it. And I dont get tired of it because theres more to listen to than the regular song. Like Girl Talk, so many songs, not just 1 particular.

i like well done mashups that last throughout a whole song, not super choppy girl talk type mashups. he does a good job with the sound but they're too short, it's always the good parts that you want to last longer that are only like 30 seconds
