I've been debating whether or not to make this thread for a while now... I'm not looking for any rants about whether or not anyone here feels that it's moral or immoral to carry a weapon, just kind of asking around to see if anyone on this site does so, and maybe a short explanation why. NO FLAME, NO dueschbaggery...

not yet due to age restrictions for CCW's in NY (21 im 19) but I will be applying for on when I am 21. My two older co-workers both carry at work (pizzeria) I have a few long guns but not any pistols as yet. I do quite a bit of shooting and fully believe in carrying a weapon.

My grandma owns a trailer park and carries a gun. Shes had crackheads and crazy people in her park so you never know what you're gonna run into when collecting rent. A lot of people in my family carry guns but to my knowledge they have never shot anyone.

I remember when I was about 10 I went to go visit my dad and before I went to sleep that night he made me get up and he took the gun out from under my pillow. He was in the marines and was a bookie at one point so I guess he liked to carry guns.

I personally do not carry/own a gun. The only purpose of a gun is for killing another living thing. If you wish to kill things, then a gun is good for you.

You're 10x more likely to get shot if you carry a gun. Sure, maybe you'll get robbed on occasion, but unarmed people get shot far less frequently than those who pull one out of their ass. I think everyone has the right to carry a weapon, but personally I feel safer sans.

I don't carry, and I don't plan to, but I will have a pistol in my bedroom for protection when I am a homeowner. My girlfriends dad was Air Force, then a cop, now head of security for our school district. He has been carrying his weapon since Columbine, and he takes it to church now after the Life Church shooting two years ago. It saved his life once though, so I can't blame him.

i forgot to mention in my earlier post that my dad carries his .44 magnum because he became so used to carrying, and using his sidearm, when he served in Vietnam that he says it feels weird when he ISNT carrying it.

I just found out that a kid bought a gun in my school, he bought the gun in my school. This freaks me out because most of the kids in my school are complete idiots and imagining them with a gun is a nightmare. after college and HS, I think it would be sick to always carry a loaded pistol, because its like having two dicks.
