Tanner "the fucking MAN" Hall.  Seriously after they kicked julien to the curb i lost all respect for them.  I own ARG's and quite frankly won't buy any of their stuff ever again unless it is a T-Hall pro model.  I can't believe there is only 1 thread on this.  what if in 2 years line dropped pollard.  I can't see that happening, but then again i thought for sure armada would keep julien until he retired. 

I don't want to support ARmada, but i do want to support Tanner.  Hopefully Armada gets the message and cleans up their act.

What info? I mean no disrespect to Tanner, but he didnt really tell us anything. By the sounds of it being a "business decision" it does sound like they intentionally let Julien go. Obviously we need more information, there is more to this story, but to all of those saying "oh its cool, its business" I should remind you that it is in fact possible to run a business and not be total assholes. There are some things that just are ethically wrong, even in a business, and I dont really care if it happens every day in most industries. Does that mean is has to happen in skiing? Especially in a company whose entire marketing strategy from the beginning has been all about how "core" and "by skiers for skiers" they are?

Sorry, that was a bit of a rant. Let me clarify that I'll still buy Armada for a lot of reasons. Its just silly for people to say that its just part of doing business, when it doesnt have to be.

I have been told that armada was not going to renew my contract. It since that despite having share and being at the hart of the projet, dosen't change anything. It's unfortunate especially the way it happen there was no discussion and no option. It was no quite the way I would think things work in a so cal family :).
Nevertheless I'm looking for new sponsor and looking forward to bring new project out there.

Even if you choose your ski company by the way they treat their atheltes or how they support the sport, in my opinion, this is not the right way to do this.
Of course I also dont want to support a company that doesnt do good for our sport, but ARMADA?!?! wtf?!
Armada has done soooo much for the sport in my opinion, starting by developing new skis to supporting riders etc. Judging Armada because they dropped Julien because of reasons you dont know (dont get me wrong, i dont know about them either, but at least I dont judge anyone) is simply WRONG.
Armada makes high quality products, starting with skis (best skis ever, have been skiing them for 4 seasons and ski the 09/10 AR6 which is btw pretty much the best ski I ve ever been on) to sick outerwear!

I'm fairly certain Tanner lives his life in a haze and isn't really capable of anything but skiing, he probably doesn't pay too much attention to the administrative side of Armada I would imagine.

my thougts exactly. No hate on Julien casue he's a dope skier, and helped to get our sport off the ground, but he's not getting any younger. To keep pushing our sport and progression my thoughts are that Armada's making room for younger skiers on the rise. I know nothing of the situation, so don't quote me. just my thoughts. I'm not going to stop supporting a company that has done so much for our sport already, especially if the still have t-hall, b-dog, provo, turpin, and hornbeck.

I don't know why anyone on here would ever consider buying anyting but LINE SKIS....prety much every piece of ski technology we all use every day and enjoy so much can be traced back to them.

If i were Anthony this would freak me out, is he next???  Anthony is probably one of my favorite riders along with JP and Julien but this is just weird after all the smack that Armada talked on why they started Armada and they turn around and do the same thing as the other "big" ski companies.

YA!! exactly , Like how they influenced the market by developing rocker in pow skis , and then into park skis as well.  Oh wait, they didnt do that. they put two tips on a  ski , which was influential dont get me wrong, then they havent really done to much since.  ya ya , pollard, well Shane was doing that shit way before pollard.

the only technology Line has made that has any significance is the Reactor binding aka worlds biggest fail. Yes they made the afterbang skate deck construction blah blah we'll see how revolutionary it really is soon enough
Don't get me wrong, Line is awesome but that guy's statement was retarded, Line is great because they don't mess around too much with products or athletes they just keep it real and avoid this stupid NS drama

Yeah it fucking sucks, I would really like to buy Lines product some time but being 6ft ( which I dont seem as huge its an average taller person ) I wont buy there stuff because it runs so small.

I have a pair of anthems in 178 and yeah there nice but they do feel like Im wearing snowblades or something.

Would love a pair of bacons aswell but 182 seriously why is Line not doing anything about this, if you look at their parent company that offers most of their pow skis in 169,179 and 189 they should atleast take notice and offer one size larger as the womens line section is sick and they have a 172 bacon for midgets.

Also saying that though I wish armarda would make a 190/195 JJ though :(

Julien may be getting older yes. but that leaves no reason for armada to drop him. theres no way its not in their budget to flow him a couple a skis a season. they have a million riders on their regional team for "budget cuts" (if thats the case), and they choose a not only a creator of the company, but a rider who has shaped and influenced the sport we all love to what it is today? weird. seems like a fairly shady move of armada. but the product is very quality imo.

oh, jeah, and even your argument with the regional riders and budget cuts is simply wrong.
IF there are budged cuts, who is easier to drop, a regional rider who get 2 pairs of skis and one outfit a season which makes a total of 1000$/season, or a full pro who gets 5-10 pairs, every outfit he deserves AND money for a living?
U gotta drop like half of the regional team to get that money back...
Not saying there were budget cuts, because I dont knwo if there were any, just saying that your whole post was pointless.

^^ I agree.  In terms of ensuring a businesses continuing life, it makes far more sense to drop an expensive outgoing, that many little outgoings.  But we have no proof that this was the reason Julien was dropped.

Sorry but Armada skis are not made well anymore.  They are poorly pressed at the Fisher factory instead of at Armada's. A mostly race ski company can't press a ski like the Armada factory used to.  I agree with the fact that they make a great product, but that product won't hold up very well anymore.

no matter what happens to the team, Armada will always be one of the main companies in skiing, theyve helped develop the sport thanks to their pro riders/founders, but as times change so do the needs of a company and refreshing their image as they have lately is possibly a way of doing this IMO

Armada does not and has not owned their own factory.

The vast majority of their skis are made in Austria at the Atomic factory.
