1080s in technical terrain

so i was just in aspen all week skiing double blacks in hanging valley... in my 1080s. They are definately good in deeper snow due to their flex and width... but just some advice... if you dont have perfect form in technical steep terrain... have fun, if you get too far foward your tips collapse and you endo. If you hopturn and land a bit in the backseat your tails collapse, and you lose it... other than that they worked out really nicely when i had the right body position. If i go back next year, im definately getting something like the pistol
O yes, you can ski backcountry is syracuse ny

I drop cliffs, straightline, and air into coulaires on my Cusson Pros, and yeah, they wash all over the place, and get thrown in avie debris, and if I land back seat I end up sliding head first down chutes with thirty footers at the end, but when I do land my stuff I know I'm right on, and when I get on pow skis, I dominate all terrain. They force you to be perfect, and once you've learned that, using fat skis becomes crazy extremeness.

They work fine for the steeps, Im not sure what you are talking about. They do get a bit unstable at really high speeds, but most of the time they do ok, I want something a little more stable next time.

^^ my guess is you don't weigh nearly as much as the people who started this thread. It is pretty well known that the 1080s are a pretty good ski if you are really light and you won't really challenge the foam core. But, if you weight over 150 the things turn to mush
'can you read what that says?'
'donna simma?'
'yes, that's right. now how would that appear in a phone book?'
'simma, donna?'
'that's right now Simma down na!'

I like mine mostly, except I think that they're too light. They're wicked for spinning in the park, but when you straightline the last bit of some steeps or something and there's all those mini not-quite-mogal bumps my skis bounce all over the place. I think if they had a bit more to them they'd stay put better.

yeah my old 10s (blue 2001s) work ok in the powder and whatnot, but obviously did have some problems. they are unstable at speeds and definetely wash out quite a bit.
but now i have pistols and i am in love. even though they are super soft they rip way fucking better than the 1080s. and yes, foam core blows.
I feel bad for people who don't drink, cause when they wake up in the morning, thats the best the're going to feel all day
