The sheer fact that you blatantly represent yourself as being a conservative in every single post is as bad if not more annoying than the people screaming Bush is Hitler (which by the way does not define popular liberal thought). You all the time spew these confrontational statements only directed at the other side of the political spectrum. It is honestly very sad that your extreme narrow mindedness may never be corrected as many Americans (Liberal and conservative) are. I understand that your family has most likely implemented extreme bias into your brain but hopefully if you are in college or when you get there you will learn a lot about yourself and the world. Balance is always a good thing my friend.

 

HAVE YOU WATCHED HIS SHOW?

I watched his show a lot over the summer. I listened to his radio show. I read his book. (I dont beleive everything he says, and I think hes getting a little crazy, anyways). He attack politicians that are not representing the people. If you actually watched him, listened to him, or read his book, he makes it clear all the time that the republicans are as bad or worse than the democrats. He was pissed at the republicans supporting tarp and many other non-conservative policies. He doesnt even like political parties.

When you say he doesnt do jack shit about democrats, you are lying to yourself, misinformed(dont watch, listen, read), or your crazy. Know what the fuck your talking about.

He backs his shit up. His book had tons of references and notes. On his show he will say if hes not sure about something. On his radio show he will say something along the lines of, "This sounds even crazy to me. Im not sure if Im right. I hope Im wrong. This is the way the eveidence looks to me. CALL ME NOW IF YOU CAN EXPLAIN TO ME WHY IM WRONG." He lies no more than obama does (oh wait, thats prob not a great comparison).

It's not his fault if he's scaring people. The truth is scary. Im pretty sure its not an act. He has better rating at a shitty timeslot than other networks at primetime. He started crying because this country is not standing up for freedom. We are not together. His 9-12 project is admirable, for both liberals and democrats. Its about coming together as a country like we did on 9-12.

Youre not making sense. So am I supposed to lay back and start posting things that I dont believe or all of a sudden start to believe liberals. How is me representing myself by my values equated or worse than ridiculous claims made by some liberals? (I never said it was popular liberal thought. I brought it up with all those other statements people were making regarding obama and nazis, hitler and bush, townhall people and swastikas).


These statements are only confrontational to liberals. What is wrong with having a strong political belief? I AM NOT REPUBLICAN. I dont give a shit about parties. I have conservative roots and I want freedom and liberty. These confrontational statements can only go one place, and that is the other side of the political spectrum wanting big government. Why would I attack the side that wants freedom?

I am not as narrow minded as it may seem. If I was that narrow minded, why would I come on this forum and debate shit? I constantly read news from liberal sources and constantly question what I believe. I do this with my other views outside of politics as well.

this is my 4th year of college. My parents influenced my political views, yes, but that was 4 years, actually longer than that. I think for myself. I disagree with them on many things since Im libertarian. I read shit on my own. I try to stay as knowledgeable as I can while pulling all nighets at school.

and all this shit, because I made a point that people can operate businesses contrary to their political views? People want to make money. There are many other obstacles that would prevent that before someone's poltical views.

Funny thing is I identify more with Libertarianism (not liberalism) also. I also may have jumped the gun but it seems every post just makes you look completely entrenched in one way of thought.

You said that is what the liberals say. Meaning it identifies an entire group. Conservative doesn't mean freedom and liberty. It's more opposite. The popular conservative belief says no to abortion, yes to killing people, and restricting music/movies. Hardly advocating freedom.

Abortion, well many conservatives think that life begins at conception, so its killing an innocent life. Right to life.
Killing people...I dont agree with capital punishment in most cases, but sometimes it needs to happen.

health care: face it, there is no way private companies can compete with a government option that can operate at a loss.

High taxes and redistribution of wealth and welfare...Your property is being taken from the government and given to someone else.

Card Check/Fast Track- Freedom for employees and businesses to run the way they want... Basically, this allows unions to come into a business and people vote whether or not businesses will be unionized. This isnt secret ballot, so they will intimidate any business to be unionized.

Right now, there is a pay czar and they are talking about capping executive pay.

We have government take over of auto companies. The government is telling them how to run their company. Obama fired their CEO.

The bigger the government, the more freedoms are lost. Less government gives you more freedom. Conservatives are for small government, libertarians, even less. Liberals want bigger government; they want control. conservatives are more in touch with the values of the start of our country, with the constitution and the declaration of independence.


My posts do not slam liberals, unless it is someone like nancy pelosi making an outrageous claim. My posts slam their views, because with the facts that I see, their methodology does not help freedom and liberty in this country.

Glenn Becks show wasnt so much about communism. it was about the freedom of speech being attacked, and how people need to question their government. That's it pretty much.

A voucher system was put in place in DC, allowing students that wanted to get a private education to get a $7,000 (roughly half the cost of sending them to government schools, I think), voucher to spend on it. The program was successful, with the students switching over getting better test scores. Liberals disbanded it.

exactly what I wanted to say.  I've casually watched fox news (mostly for entertainment, especially when something is in the news that i knew would piss them off) for a few years as well as msnbc, but mostly cnn although i have problems with them all.  There has certainly been a change in tone with all of the news programs but most notably fox news.  When bush was president if you wanted to speak out against his policies for the most part you were dismissed as unpatriotic.  Now it's your duty to speak out suddenly (it always should be when you disagree, but the way it's being done in an organized fashion with these town hall meetings is laughable).  It is just hard to take it seriously when over night it changes from blind faith to challenging everything and it has less to do with the issues than it does with the party in power.

The fuck? When he disbands property rights and assigns 1st graders careers  I will call him a communist. Calling him a communist is pretty laughable. I know he is probably the most liberal president we have ever had, but communist is a huge stretch of the imagination(bullshit).

1. I said conservatism does NOT advocate freedom (personal freedoms) in the way that libertarianism. Look up the word, libertarianism is not the same as a liberal. That would be liberalism two completely different choices.

The capping of executive pay is not done by the private market. This is a major flaw/hole with neoclassical theory. The distribution of wealth is dangerous at its current rate. That is not me being a speculative liberal, that is me being someone talking about historical fact. It is bad for economies to have the distribution we are vowing to and are at.

America to me is "that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." That this government OF the people BY the people FOR the people ( I realize this is Gettysburg address but it still applies to my point.) In essence the government is here to protect us. You shouldn't have to be afraid of it. There shouldn't be a patriot act and we shouldn't be afraid of it looming around our shoulders. That's America to me.

Where everyone can have a decent life and the freedom to practice what they want when they want as long as it is not harming anyone else. However capitalism in it's most pure essence will destroy these values. Don't even say I am for socialism but the unregulated capitalism will account for mass exploitation and such. If you don't at least agree with me here I will null and void all further statements you say.

To make the claim that conservatives are more in touch with the Declaration is an incredibly wrong statement. Personal freedoms are endowed more in the Declaration than anything else. They want a government, just not overbearing. I am not saying we should have 50% taxes at all. It is unAmerican. However we do need to address the social issues that face our country and more importantly how to create a fundamental industry for the continuous growth of this country.

@ GregThePanda, trust me, FoxNews is MUCH worse than CNN or MSNBC. Yeah sure, every network has there bias and they show it. But it seems that its much more prevalent on FoxNews than any other network. Dont get me wrong, im not a fan of CNN (fucking Nancy Grace) or MSNBC, but FoxNews takes the fucking cake. Its a shameless promotion of their political views 24/7. at least CNN or MSNBC actually reports a REAL story every once in a blue moon.

if you had actually listened to glenn beck, past 2006, when Bush started approving useless spending, Glenn beck was highly critical. If you didnt know, he had a show on CNN, not fox news for a while. His show on CNN was not very entertaining and his radio show suffered during his transition to doing tv and radio. Its funny you say fuhrer and march, cause thats what obama is like everytime he speaks. If you paid attention at all, you would have seen he has always cared about personal freedom, and thats why BEFORE obama was elected, he fought against obama (and mccain, cause he sucked too). It goes way beyond that.

i agree there has been a change in tone and a change in the show. Glenn has gotten a little far on some statements. He is uncovering research and connection between lots of groups. He doesnt know if hes right and he lets people know. He asks people to show him where he's wrong. The change in tone is due to the new evidence glenn is finding and exceptional pace the government is under right now.

i completely agree with everything you said there and deeply respect you knowing what a real conservative but completely disagree with you on the gun rights issue.  that's a societal and values isue, not issue, not a right to have a gun issue.  having the right to own a gun is one of the most basic rights an american has.  especially looking at the direction the United Police States of America are taking, we need those rights just as much as ever.

Illegal guns can be more accessible than legal ones, that is a problem. Guns need to be registered and stuff, but just because one guy might have 20 guns doesn't make him a crazy militant or something. I live where there are a lot of hunters and they just like guns sort of like how we like skis. It is nice to have different types of skis for different things.

That kind of stuff happens and sucks but the contraband gets into america and on to the black market no matter what.
The problem you brought up has to do with guns but the problem starts with drug culture in the first place. Preventing drug use through education and shit instead of law enforcement would help relieve that problem. I still get what you are saying though. Perhaps a way to help prevent(not eradicate though, thats tough) is too make it so that deadlier weapons like that need to be registered frequently like vehicles do. If the cops find your weapon on a drug dealer you should get in trouble unless you reported the gun stolen(much like you might a car).

A couple of things why this doesn't work. First off, the NRA is one of the most powerful lobbies in Washington, DC. They ain't havin it. Even relatively meager steps to curb illegal guns trade and violent crime, they oppose categorically. Secondly, in areas like LA, or other places where gang violence is rampant, having an illegal firearm just walking down the street will land you in jail for a couple of years. If you have a gun or are a known gang member, you go to jail for 15 years for getting caught with 2 lines of coke. But that doesn't mean that there's any less crime in these areas, it just means that the private prison industry is one of the fastest growing if not THE fastest growing industry in the United States. We lock up a larger portion of our population than any developed nation in the entire world.

you're talking about societal problems (again).  that has nothing to do with rights and everything to do with how fucked up our society is.  guns only kill people if there's a person pulling the trigger.
