Good boots to buy???

I've been skiing for a few years now, but have started riding park a lot more recently. My old boots are pretty trashed and I'm lookin to buy some new ones for 400 or less. So, ya... any suggestions?

Well if you have wide feet full tilts are unlikely to work.
Everyone's feet are different so although recommendations are good to get started, your best bet for finding comfortable, well fitting boots is to go in and get properly boot fitted without a certain boot in mind. That said salomon, dalbello and several other companies have good freeski boots.
Also, boots are pretty expensive so unless you;re looking online you might have troubles finding good boots for under $400 at this time of year.

YES, IT MATTERS.  Fulltilts are generally narrow allaround. SPK's are very wide. i have some.

no they fit me fine ,cause i have custom arch supports, they were way to expensive for me tho :(

You can make any boot fit your foot, its all about seeing a good boot fitter that knows what he/she is doing.

im a fan of the dabello IL morro but its like 700, but check dabello they have some sick boots or soloman the new spk are awsome

Buy my first-gen salomon sPk's. They are in great condition, and for like $75 bucks, who cares if they might not fit.

Go with technica i was at this place in whistler and they said technica is good for wide feet if you can find any technica for under $400 you will be fine

dont go with technica, try on tons of diferent boots and get the ones that fit best but you can usually count on technica boots to be shit unless you buy their top of line product

I just got the 09 Dalbello rampage for 50% off. Just go to a local ski shop and get fitted there. Chances are they will have some of last years boots for a good price.

I disagree, at least for performance fit.  If a boot starts too big(long or wide) you are a bit screwed.  You can get extra thick intuitions and stuff, but it still won't be top performance.  I think you meant making a boot that is too skinny wider, and that is easy and a smart way to go.  I almost did that with FTs, but then realized solly Falcons fit my foot out of the box amazingly, have a better flex(stiffer, and IMO smoother) and I may be alone on this, but I don't like FTs flat bootboards(no slope) or buckle system.

  To the thread maker, get fitted, but IMO Sollys are best.  They go from shells widening 2mm each(falcon(98)-impact(100) and some 102 and 104 and SPKs) so most likely one will fit you well.  Also some have "custom shells" that mold(widen) in the forefoot for more exact fit.  I didn't use it on my CS Pros because I don't need them wider, but it would be worth it for many people.  Make sure you first get good footbeds with any boot(all stock suck badly, I recommend SOLE ( yoursole.com I think)) then secondly Intuitions(BTW, all FT "intuitions' aren't the actual quality of intuitions from intuition directly, and Dalbello's intuitions are better than FTs, but again not 100%).
