K, well here's my piece then...which I've stated during protest in real life:
Do you know why it's harder for Christians in society than athiests? Because Christianity's (the church) sole purpose is to tell you how to live, who to be, and what you can do. Because when you get up and state your alliance with the church, you wear a badge on your sleeve that says "I believe that you are a sinner and deserve an eternity of the utmost pain because of who you are, and how you live, and what you do."
There are some things that society agrees on (no murder, theft, respect, decency), but you Christians (and once again, I would like to clarify between the faith and the church) have shown countless americans, including myself, that they are not worthy of happiness. That it is morally more acceptable to disown or kill your children than allow them to be something that the church does not approve of.
We are talking about a religion that didn't allow blacks to marry because they were unclean.
That is responsible for the deaths of millions.
That condones slavery.
That believes that war is justifiable,
That seeks to deny the pleasures of life to Billions worldwide.
And when I see a Christian around here, I want to say "there goes a person", but all that comes to mind are the rocks they through at me because I was different. Or the fact that I'm homeless and without family because of "Christianity".
I think Jesus was a great guy. I think the Church is a disgusting smear on Society's good name, and all those that swear allegiance to this church are guilty by association..
