Hey guys, my name is HOOD_RICH and I just read the evolution thread and I thought, "Hey, if he can make a 9+ page thread containing religious beliefs, I CAN TOO!"

Fact of the matter is, that story is made up by the kind of people who obsess over the importance of religion.  They are the reason for what they are trying to stop.  People would be happy to express religious beliefs if there wasn't so much pressure from opossing religions.

The part where its likepeople are afraid to post it I was like idk most people are accepting of other peoples beliefs in this age. Then I thought of NS so I made the thread.

that was believable until the professor ran away and the timid little freshman preached for half an hour.

yes, i have heard this story before, and it was way different. I hate the people that make up these stories to "prove that there is a god", because they cannot deal with the evidence that other people can put out that goes against their beliefs. Sorry if any of you are offended by what I say, but I spent my lunch every day this year discussing religion, and I have gotten sick of hearing stuff like this as a counter argument for what I had said. /rant

On another note, how do you quote the text and delete the rest? every time i try to edit what i quote, the spam buster says that i am quoting stuff that does not exist in the original post. it contradicts itself, I want to quote

I'll take this as a parable for when you stand up in what you believe in, good things will come. Also, how the hell is a professor allowed to proselytize the merits of Atheism to his students for 20 years without so much as a warning? And any GOOD philosophy professor respects the notion of God as possible, though nigh inconceivable, and not necessarily the magical description that the Bible gives us. THAT god is a fucking tool.

And this is christian propaganda. There are so many of these going around that snopes doesn't even give a shit.

To be honest I truly believe this video is fake. But it does leave you thinking... But you should think about its message not if its real or not. I seriously got nothing out of this. I believe in what I believe. Simple right? Well then worry about your beliefs not the beliefs of others. I think its nice if you just find the community that believes in what you do just like church. So just remember just because you believe in one thing doesn't mean its right or wrong so don't pass it on to the rest of the world please.

Look yo, NS is not a place to discuss religion with a bunch of 16 year old girls who can't handle themselves when they're wrong. I'm not swaying to either this, if you believe in God that's fine, I can appreciate what your saying even though I don't agree with you; but realize no one on this website will give you compassion seeing as how history has proven time and again, NS can't handle a civil conversation. This is just prolonging this strange streak of religious threads hitting NS lately.

I heard this story just a little while ago.

A man was looking around a freeskiing website reading all sorts of stupid threads. This man had been an atheist for much of his life and knew that there was no god because the concept is just ridiculous. One day after reading threads on the freeskiing site the man said to himself "God cannot be real, would God let this sort of drivel spew from the mouths of those that he created? If there is a God he would have the humor to atleast make a thread stupid enough to make me laugh, instead of make me want to shoot myself." The next day the man got on the freeskiing website and started to look at threads when he stumbled upon one titled "I'm not a troll, I'm not afraid of the flaming. I'm not a fool". He watched part of the video that was posted and began to roll on the floor laughing, uncontrolibly from the stupididy of the thread. Right then the man stoped and remembered what he had said about God the night before, and realized this was God showing him that he was real and the man became a devout christian.

And it's a true story I don't care if you don't believe me.

I think the story originates from alleghany college or something somewhere near PA. A deist chemistry professor tried to point out to his students that prayer never worked by dropping a beaker or something and one day it hit his foot and rolled on the floor, some guy freaked and wrote a book about it.


Please don't post youtube videos of internet chain mail without knowing it actually happened.

This could be a pretty cool story if it's true. But I doubt it is. I don't think some random youtube video, playing some shitty music in the background has much credibility. I guess I am moderately religious, I try to get to church every sunday, and videos like these piss me off, because this is the image Christianity gets from non-Christians.
