How much do you spend on groceries?

Well, there were 9 oz. bags of puffed red wheat cereal. Really healthy stuff, just a dollar. Eat bag gives you about 5 bowls of cereal, and I had about 2 bowls a day. So I got 4 bags of that. Theres $4. As far as milk goes, I used powdered milk by the box. That was like $4 too, I think, and it was enough milk for all my cereal, a few glasses of milk, and I used 8 oz. baked in my oven to make homemade yogurt. I also bought a small box of powdered goats milk which was like $3
So with that Im up to $11. The other 9 was spent on tofu, tea, potatoes, snap peas, and oranges. I also ate alot of tomatoes that I grow myself. A typical day consisted of:
A bowl of cereal and half an orange for breakfast. Tomato sandwich and a cup of tea for lunch. Dinners were, for the first half of the week, tofu stir fry with snap peas and roasted tomatoes. The second half of the week, it was seasoned potatoes with a side of yogurt and fruit. I also drank plenty of tea, water, and milk (both cows and goat) throught the week. Overall not a bad week.

Forgive me if Im a little off on my math, as I didnt keep tabs with exactly how much everything was. But I started the week with nothing but a twenty, and finished with like, ten cents.

Damn.  $20 is mad cheap.
This will be the first year of buying my own food and I love to cook and have expensive tastes so I'm sure I'll spend tons on food.

I spend about 50-70 bucks for two weeks. If I go around 70 though I am kind of angry with myself unless its a lot of food that was on sale.

So technically, you could do it on ten if you just used powdered milk. I read an article some time ago about how you save on average like 74 cents or more a gallon with powdered

I'm still in highschool, so i'm not sure how much exactly we spend for a family of five every month.

But yesterday, we went to Sams Club (ike costco or whatever) and spend like $110 on gatorade and vitamin water, which i thought was interesting.

you must have a very small carbon footprint.. good for u.

personally, I would never be able to live off such a lackluster diet... it takes a lot of food to energize a man of my stature, and I am very glad my parents still pay the grocery bill when I'm at school.

Thats what seasoning is for!

And hell, Id eat anything to be able to ski every day! Thats what this is all about. The cheaper you live, the less you work, the less you work, the more you ski!

When I bought my own groceries it was anywhere from 30-60 bucks a week. I usually raped the 10 for 10 bucks sale, so many good deals there. I didn't always eat the healthiest or a whole lot, but I was never going hungry.

I have a job and make pretty decent money so I don't really try to cut costs to that extreme. I do grow a lot of stuff in my own garden and brew my own beer though...I'd say I spend about 60 a week on groceries, and I eat pretty well.

best deal you can find is $1 personal pizza. those are usually really good and can serve as a great meal. and if you grow some tomatoes just chop em up and throw them on and its AMAZING

EASIEST WAY TO EAT FOR FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

go to your local wal-mart and just look presentable, you know not like a thug in your usual NS attire that consists of tall tee's and whatever else you where.

go in and get a cart and throw some random shit in there, just for the hell of it.

next go to the deli and buy whatever you want to eat (BBQ wings, potatoes etc.) and just walk around and eat it. if anyone asks say you're starving and need to eat. you'll pay for it and sound offended. trust me i do this all the time when i want to eat but don't want to pay.

ditch the buggy and leave. simple as that. you can also throw in taking whatever else you need for the week, but that's another story.

cameras that nobody really watches. not to mention the fact that you look like anyone else in the store and honestly if you are confronted the worst you'll have to do is pay for your meal. it isn't stealing until you actually leave the store.

^and nothing is wrong with me. i don't go into some mom and pop shop that's barely surviving and put them out of business. i take a few measly dollars from wal-mart if i'm around there and am hungry. i'm pretty sure they are taking a lot more money from everybody else around with their monopoly of stores they have.

About 150/month.  I eat out once or twice for a big meal, and probably about 3 or 4 5$ lunches during the week.

I'm not sure because I was always spending a good chunk of my cash on Bud so I would have pretty meager food options but I would probably spend $50 every two weeks. Compare that with $250 ever week for pot (smoked an 8th every day).

But when you need it cheap food is cheap, I can't wait to have a garden though.

^ Yeah but I still ate pretty well, Trader Joes is the shit and I could eat okay for only that much.

I just smoked a ton of spliffs like 6-10 a day. I just loved getting high.

Dude, trader joes is my swagg. If you go out back around closing time, you can get soo much free shit if the dudes on the dock are cool enough. And if your really, really short on cash, they never have garbage compressors, so the dumpsters are LOADED... mmmm, vegan soy protein banana muffins... for free

its funny you'd say "i don't go into some mom and pop shop that's barely surviving and put them out of business." because wal-mart puts mom and pop stores out of bussiness all the time since they can sell the same stuff for so much lower. not to mention they build theft into their prices. if anything, i'd say you were doing a good thing haha.

I eat out for lunch, since I'm in the office.

But I eat at home for breakfast and dinner, and my grocery bill comes out to around 40 Euro / week. Add the cost of lunch, and weekend costs, and it comes to say 70 Euro / week. Then add the beer and wine, and it's a bit more, since beer and wine are cheap (and good) here in Europe.

I eat well. Typically $100/week give or take. If the meat supply needs to be replenished, err on the high end.

Also, that total includes a high volume of deli meats as I always bring my own meals when I'm working.

My girl and I spend like 300 a month at BJ's. Then we hit up the local coop up for veggies and fruits. I think we spend around 100 per week.
