i'm guessing most people on this site are sponsered by their parents, and their parents are the only reason why they can ski in the first place... so it only makes sense.

unless you're parents are touching you (sexually or aggressively), or feeding you drugs and alcohol, or downright neglecting you, then you have NO REASON to disrespect them. They are the reason you exist.

well, there's a level of just simple arrogance. but i think a lot of teens don't realize that it doesn't really matter how they think or feel. yeah sometimes parents take out their problems on you, but a lot of other times, you're a fucking teenager, and you have more difficulty understanding the world in certain terms, and so you are less likely to be able to cope with simple things. as explained to me by a psychologist...anyways....just don't be naughty and you won't get the belt.

Among other things. im 14 too, and i get pissed at my parents sometimes, but i get that they are really trying to help so it passes. and they are incredibly supportive of anything i want to do.

im sure we've all been there, done that.  hell i even made my own "dam parents" thread.  i dont know what your problem with your parents are but whatever it is, im sure you guys can work out something that can work for everyone....

if you are honest and mature with your parents, they will treat you with the same amount of respect.

i had a little $ problem with my parents and i made some sacrifices and in the end, we worked something out..

most of all, dont think that you're parents owe you anything, because they dont..

I can understand the bitching, but you're 14, and most (not all) 14 yr olds think they know everything. Your parents do so much that you don't even notice, and its all for you. It's their job to bitch and nag you all the time, they love and care for you, and they have your best interests in mind at all times. Just be nice to them, raising a 14 year old kid isn't the easiest job in the world.

Normally I'd agree with your statement, but it seems you may have mistaken yourself for someone who is above the OP in terms of intelligence and respect.

If you want someone to dig your point, don't end it with ^^ that up there, chastizing a 14 year old and calling him the f-word. Everyone's parents are different. What if the situation involves something important, like his choice of college and they said no and that they were right no matter what? What if they DIDN'T buy him everything he owns? Or maybe they're just being assholes? Your parents are NOT saints.
