afterbang is a stiffer ski, albeit only slightly, but it is much stiffer torsionally thanks to the new construction, so, hypothetically, its a better east coast ski as it will give you better hold on hard snow and ice outside the park.
that being said, a lot of it comes down to how you like to ski. something wider and more playful can be ridiculously fun too, its like a controlled smear turns all over the mountain (doesnt have the stiffness to really dig in and carve on the ice coast). the afterbang is def a more controlled butter, as the flex point is right in front of the binding and the ski is less like to wash.
if you're riding more park, id lean toward the afterbang. ski will take a through trashing and laugh at you. at the two demos i skied them at, we tried to break them, and the only thing we came up with was a cracked demo binding plate.
the afterbangs wheigh a lot more than the anthoms too.
anthems are softer
thats like the only difference
and the afterbangs are like indestructable
