straight up, im so down with sharks. i actually look forward to shark week every year and i want to learn more about them.
anyways, the weekend at the end of shark week, my family had a reunion at the beach on LBI, NJ where i live. we had a baking contest and i made this baller shark head coming out of water, all sculpted out of fondent like they do on tv. thats besides the point
im friends with mad fisherman around here, and one of my good friends was telling me how hes seen more sharks off the coast of the island in 16 to 17 ft of water than hes seen in the 50 yrs hes been fishing offshore. bull sharks, small great whites, hammerheads, you name it.
also, the monday after shark week, i was about to dive in and go out for a swim, right when im about to dive in through a wave, fucking shark flashes right in front of my eyes. shits real gnarly. i see small ones when i surf all the time.
bottom line is: sharks are tight, dont be the farthest out in the water, be aware, and sharks dont attack humans unless its a mistake.
every year, there are only 60-70 attacks in the entire world. out of them, only 1 in 6 attacks is fatal. you have a 10 in 6 billion chance of getting killed by a shark every year, so relax
