Possible an ad caused this or some type of media(pictures or video clips) caused this. Most likely just an overkill response from your browser.

Well the webpage it had linked looked like it was for the ads.  Maybe one of those ads had the malware.

I've gotten this a few times on NS today as well. It definitely seems to be linked to an ad or something because it has been on different pages and I have gone back to them later without a warning.
I'm hoping its not a big deal.

Its an issue with one of the ads we're running... sorry just going to take us a bit to figure out which one.

We assure that there is no malware on NS - we check it very frequently and do much to ensure its not on there.

You can't catch anything through the ad system either. THis is likely a false report, so know that you're safe on Newschoolers!

it seemed more like one of those things that if you accepted it/clicked it, you're going to get infected kind of thing. i wasn't too worried being on a mac and all. i just thought i'd throw it out there.

This just happened to me about 5 minutes ago. Then the screen flipped to My Computer and something was downloading so I shut down the computer as fast as i could and it seems alright now but i dont understand what happened.

Ok best thing to do here is that if ANYONE sees this, please grab a screen capture and post it up. We're trying to track down where its coming from, and as far as we can tell its in one of our ad networks. You aren't in any danger on NS, its just coming up because of a 3rd party ad server.

We will track it down and eliminate that company from our roster. Just do your best to give us a hand!

hahaha, but anyway... I've had safari tweak WAY out over alot of sites that were obviously not an issue, although I haven't seen this specific one on NS. but I also use firefox as my main browser, so that could be part of it.
