What are the good mountains to ski around Syracuse, NY...I'm an incoming freshman at Syracuse University and would like to know where the ski during the winter
Go to Togg for everything park related. Maybe Lab on a college night if they every get their pipe open. It has been a few years for me so I don't know if they do anymore.
Also, I would keep an eye on the lake effect patterns in Tug Hill (to the north) Snow Ridge is small but definitely sick when you catch it right after a big storm. Turn turn cliff, turn turn lift alllll day.
Yeah i'm new to the Syracuse area too this year. I'm a grad student over at SU. I went to that "$3 Million Ski Show" this weekend at the NY State Fairgrounds and spoke with the people from Toggenburg, and they told me if I showed my school ID, I could ski for $15! Crazy good deal. Anyway, if anyone is in the area and would want to carpool sometime...i'll contribute gas money!
Oh, and if anyone rock climbs, PLEASE hit me up. Skiers and rock climbers are super hard to find around here.
believe it or not it used to be that if you showed your college ID it was only $10 to ski for a whole day. I just moved from syracuse area to salt lake city. Looking forward to seeing everyone at togg around christmas time.
you should join the recreation services ski and snowboard program. they bus you to togg on Friday and Saturday nights for like 4 hours. i was a chaperon last year and prob again this year its a blast def worth it.
I'd recommend this for sure. The only downfall is the incredibly long line to get your pass and rentals the first week of the program... I'm sure you don't need rentals though and if you just get your pass ahead of time you'll be ready to shred in no time! I'll be at Togg entirely too much this season, like every day, so I'm stoked to meet a bunch of you guys.
Hmm, I didn't even know rec. services had a shuttle! I'll look into it...
It'll kind of suck though because I didn't bring any of my stuff (cause i'm only here for a year and i'm going back to Washington Dec-Jan anyway. I figure I can get the bulk of my skiing in when I go home). So that basically means i'm going to have to rent gear...no rails for me this season! At least not in NY :(
