i'm sorry to admit, but you should probably go with the touch.. i'm sure the zune might be nicer but ipod has succesfully monpolized the whole music industry and you're gonna have just a wee bit o trouble with the zune, but stuff with the ipod will be much easier.. 2 cents
I got my iPod touch for Christmas, brought it back to Costco because it was quite glitchy. I got a new one, it is in fucking mint condition, NO SCRATCHES, and the little bitch won't stop glitching and the battery doesn't last as long as they say. I have been meaning to call Apple about it. iPod Touch is cool for the first few weeks and they you realize how stupid the thing is. I would go for the Zune, cheaper, and it will serve the purpose just fine.
if you can get over the novelty of the ipod touch and it being cool, i would get a regular ipod. I've never had an issue with my ipods over the years. They always last for at least 2.5 years if not longer.
oh and you're "on the border" like between 2 things. not boarder like you snowboard. sorry, just helpin ya out so you don't look silly writing that again.
i still use my first gen. ipod nano just about every day. thing is a tank. i've also used my friend's zunes and found them confusing and annoying. apple's pretty much got the mp3 game figured out.
Microsoft need to get some of these smooth idea to get the Zune out there, its a sick player and i prefer it to the iPod by a way, just need an excuse to buy one since my damn iPod classic has been tanking along for years now.
I've had both and my zune just finaly broke down (after being put through a lot). I liked it much better than the Ipod. So much more that I got bootcamp XP on my map and plan to get a new one as soon as I can pull the money together. It's much more durable and once you get used to how it works it's much more intuitive than the Ipod.
i want to get a zune but the touch is just so nice with the wifi and all the apps thats its not even close. the new zunehd looks sick tho, might have to swap it out as long as its up to par with the touch
I dont know what you guys do to your ipods but my 1st gen ipod touch still works perfectly after being dropped many times. It has also been left in my car for days in very hot weather and has been frozen skiing. But i have never owned or even used a Zune so i cant compare the two
that is 100% false. the itunes software is absolute shit, I add a folder to my library and for some reason only 30% of the songs show up. I cant even get half my library on my ipod, its such bull shit.
Zunes run a lot nicer than ipods. I'd say get the zune if you want something that will actually last. The zune software is a ton better than itunes too
well money doesnt seem to be an issue here, so you should ask yourself: how many gigs do i want to have available in my pocket?
if you only want 30 or less, get the zunehd
if you want 80-120 get a regular zune80 or zune120
the second choice is much cheaper than the hd or the touch.
but i must say, try something new. something that not as many people reccommend. because really, it could be something better than the normal.
what's not to get? once i got used to using it, i liked the way it was organized more so than the ipod. it's just different than an ipod so everyone assumes it'll work like one.
what are you using it for? if you are watching porn on the internet then yes it will only last an hour. Internet use + video=1 hour of battery life.
Lock mode + music=36 hours of music
Advice: Wait until at least September 9 before making a decision. Apple's expected to unveil new iPod touches on that date. Expect a photo/video camera and larger capacities (i.e. 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and maybe 128GB). Plus with the App Store (50,000+ apps and counting), you can't go wrong.
ha, i guess intuitive might have been the wrong word but it's not hard to figure out at all. i like the way the zune is organized better. people just expect it to be an ipod and they always try to turn it in circles instead of swiping it in the direction they want and they can't get the concept that to select something all you have to do is push down on the center of the pad. it'd not that difficult to figure out. i think my favorite function is the most simple one though, the fact that you can actually see what's playing next on your playlist.
Yeah, there's only a slight chance of 128GB (although that would rock and likely replace the Classic).
There's no doubt there will be at least 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. Apple always "doubles the capacity for the same price." And when you think about it, they haven't increased the capacity of the iPod touch since they launched the 1st Generation iPod touch in January or February 2008 or whatever. It's long overdue. That's the only reason a 128GB seems plausible, if unlikely.
thats completely false but anyway....If you want a gimmick get a touch, if you want a good music player get a zune. I enjoy my 120 gigs of memory much more than a bunch of apps.
The bottom line here is that as a company, Apple knows exactly what they are doing with the iPod/app store and Microsoft doesn't which is why they have been playing catchup to the iTouch ever since it came out. The ipod and its support network (app store, Jailbreak, etc) is leagues ahead of the zune because of that. Plus, the app store makes the touch way more useful (which is hard to imagine when you start using the ipod right out of the box) and the zune has nothing even close to that to call its own.
IMO, get the ipod touch. You might be happy with a zune, but it will always be lacking in comparison to the ipod.
^I'm trying to help this kid make a good decision not argue with you. Zune's have a better interface, they run smoother. Like said above once you get used to it, which takes all of a day, it's easy to see it runs much smoother than an Ipod. The zune software is set up exceedingly superior to Itunes, I can't count on my fingers how many times I've heard people losing all their music from itunes. Bottom line is I've owned both products, and you obviously have not; if your not bright enough to realize how much of a gimmick the itouch is, continuing this argument would be a worthless endeavor I don't care to undertake
