Couchsurfing.com

First Off, I did Searchbar and this has yet to be talked about as far as my searchbar could say. So heres the deal. A friend of mine from out west was over today, and she started talking about "couch surfing" and how a bunch of her friends out west couch surf during the winter and take huge ski trips with free lodging. So how is this possible you might say?

What happens is you start a profile on this website, and talk to other couch surfing members. Specifically, you talk to ones that have couches that they will let you crash on, for multiple days at a time, and just offer you a place to stay for free. You can search very specifically (where, what age limit you have for who you would stay wtih, what gender and stuff like that.) Sometimes they come with a little catch like when you stay with them, maybe they want you to clean the house once, or wash there cars, or something really easy like that, and sometimes, if you get a good person/family, they'll even feed you and stuff like that. Ive heard stories of people crashing at these peoples houses for up to 2-3 weeks at a time, getting fed every day, and free range on the house basically. This would be especially good for if you wanted a place to stay while you're out west or wherever you want to go, without costs. There are people from Couch Surfing EVERYWHERE! Its even world wide...Can you say pow trip to Japan?
This could open a lot of doors for skiers who want to go out west or even go west to east coast (though im not sure why you would ever do this) who cant afford the lodging and just want to ski. People on Couch Surfing are especially receptive to people who are coming out for hobbies and activites and I think this will become something that the freeskiing community could really utilize.
Plus you meet lifetime friends and just good people. Id suggest people looking into this, it may open a lot of doors for people this winter.
