Custom or reputation?

I'm in a bit of a pickle

Anyway
I don't know which skis to choose.
It's come down to Volkl Bridges, or 333 Skis (222 test ones though)
I would get the bridges through my store (pro form i guess) so they would come out to be about the same price in the end

So heres the dealio.
Volkl's are reliable, good, well know, reputable skis. i have no doubt i will be unhappy with them. but at the same time they are pretty boring and unoriginal
333's are CUSTOM! they look sick, and Michael (the ski guy) has been in the business for a long time and seem to really know his shit. Hes super personal and awesome, and his business is even cooler. And i would love to help out the small business guy that really cares. But on the other side, i haven't seen any reviews, so i dont know how sturdy and reliable they are, i dont want them to fall apart on me or anything, and even though i have a SICK design planned out, i dont know how it will work, and volkl knows and has tested their design and it definitely works

help me decide NS!!!

Doesn't 333 have a good warranty?  If so then I see no issues with 333.

true, but that's just what he says, no ones ever really used it so i have no idea...

I mean im leaning toward custom, but the Volkls are just a super safe bet...

Custom, he needs the money alot more than vokl, and since he is such a small business customer service is pretty much all he has to get other people to buy his skis.

Yeah, you never know what type of shit that guy could try and pull.  Ask him if he can refer you to anyone.  He has past customer's emails.  I'm sure if you sent a real polite email to one of them they would be more than happy to help you.  TGR might know some stuff about this guy too.  You could always go and search 333skis over on their forum.

Yeah, i read the entire thread on TGR and  it was pretty epic how he showed everyone up.

I mean i donno, its just a little risk, but if it ends up bad, i ruin my entire winter...

Honestly I'd just get the volkls. It really depends on the ski you are making at 333. I would assume you would make one similar to the Bridge. Which in reality isn't too crazy, just a nice solid construction. If you were going to get a really unique ski then I'd go with 333.

Also, ever consider On3p? I'm pretty stoked on this seasons line up. I don't need new skis but I still want a pair!

Well i made a mixture of the Bridges, the Rossi S5's, and the new kung fujas
they are like 128-96-118 with a little tip and tail rocker. i think they will be playful yet super aggressive at the same time? that's what i was hoping. It would be a fun east coast power house

and ON3P's are sick, but outa my price range

That would be a good ski.  For no worry at all I would definitely do the Bridge.  I would let a few kids on here experiment with 333 first, then go from there.  For now I would get the Bridge though.  Aren't Bridges pretty costly though?  If you wanted the little tip and tail rocker then you might even be better off going with the Fujas.

Ahh I shouldn't even have suggested the On3p's I guess I missed the part about you proforming the volkls. In that case man I'd go for the 222's. A unique ski that is catered exactly to what you want. Sounds like a good situation. Plus dude, your season wouldn't be over if these skis actually gave you a problem. I'd bet you have tons of buddies that would let you use their skis. Hell I know I'd let you use mine if you needed them and I don't even know you.

Alright, i think i will go with 333

the only thing is that Michael, the 333 man himself, is kinda confusing me. I'm trying to ask him questions about them, telling him my situation and everything, and asking for some reassurance. But his answers are like "I can't give you any reassurance, volkl makes a great ski, the price is right, and you get them right away, nothing like instant gratification.". its confusing the hell outa me, like why is he not trying to sell me on 333 skis and instead selling me the volkls? its like hes super impatient or something. It almost makes me feel like an asshole
