Telling parents you smoke green

im 14 and i finally decided to straight up tell my parents i smoke weed. they were chill with it and just kept telling me that if i ever got into trouble to call them. and they told me if i ever get laced shit and end up getting sick that i should tell them. fuck. anyone that smokes weed should tell their parents. you don't know how good it feels after you tell em.

i used to think i had rights...till i got arrested by a crooked cop...let my friend go and he had more weed than me in his pocket.....cop pretended like he didnt find it when he searched him....now i got 341 days left on probation....dont take it for granite that you "cant" be searched....they can say they smell bud and boom....your in the back of a cop car......its what happened to me....just be careful.

My mom asked me about it a few times and I think actions speak louder than words, so instead of telling my mom, I just sat down in the kitchen and took a  shit while ripping my octo-bong. She hasn't really asked about it since.

When my dad found out i smoked(he found my stash) he tried to tell me that he never smoked weed. He lived as a teenager during the fucking 70's. I find this to be bullshit because he told my older siblings about a time he was out with his friends and his friend decided to jump into an empty pool. he broke his neck but didnt die. i find it hard to believe that you can get drunk enough for that but when high...definatly seems pretty fun to me

smelling herb gives probable cause for a search.  my feeling on the matter, is if you have a perfectly acceptable location to smoke herb, dont smoke it in a car.  This is when most people get busted, plus you can get a DUI for it, which sucks way more.  Smoke in a house.

wowwww...weird the same thing happened to me except differnt...so i come home and see my mom siiting on the couch' and she says that we need to tlk...so i was like okkk wats it about. she says she cnt say nething until my dad gets there....wtf?!?  r u seriousssss...wat did i do, i was tryin to play it cool, racking my brain to figure out wat i did wrong, then my dad shows up and sits down, and the most awkward silence happens. Then my dad just blurts out, "we found a pot pipe in your car today"....at first i was like wtf...pot pipe? lol wats that...o u mean a bowl oooooo gotcha...i didnt realize we lived in 1971 here...nxt thought was fml i cnt believe this is happening. Basically the most awkward weird bad 27 min. of my life came then. So now my dad things im a crackhead who is going to deal drugs, make my brother start smoking, and basically shit on everything and make him look bad, meanwhile my mom is pretty cool about it and we had a nice tlk about it after my dad left. So now my dad has my bowl(goodbye $40) im grounded for 2 weeks wit no fone, and i got my license takin away for a month....and o yaaaaaaa and i now hav the pleasure of becoming familiar with random home drug testing.......wow fml

i may only be fourteen but im not a dumbass. if you have weed in a car always keep it hidden and locked up. if its locked a cop can't search unless he smells it. smoking in your car is just asking for it once you get pulled over. not smart.

or if they want to be a dick they can simply like and say they smelled marijuana or saw you moving around like you were hiding something (probably cause) and search you car whether you consent or not. yeah that shit does sometimes work, but it's VERY easy for a police officer to get around it.

You need to get the app chrocLES it has everything you need to know about smoking and your rights!

LIke depending on what state you live in (i live in washington) it tells you like the rules like in my state if you have under 40g its only a misdemeanor. Yeah i learned that from that app.

But buy it! its onnly 1$!

Ps i think it all depends on what kinda parents you have. my dad always tells me stories of him smoking weed so i think hed be chill with it.

Yeah my mom told me that if she ever caught me smoking she'd talk to me, and then when she's tired of talking to me she'll get my dad to talk to me and when he's tired of talking to me she'll get my grandma to talk to me and when she's tired of it she'll get my grandpa to talk to me.

The level of ignorance in this thread with respect to police searches is insane.

Here is what you need to do, in light of the fact that you guys haven't the slightest clue what you're talking about: if the officer tells you he wishes to perform a search and you're worried about what he'll find, you say that you do not consent, and ask to see a lawyer, as is your right upon being detained. No matter what is said from that point forward by police, you say absolutely nothing but "I want my lawyer". If they are able to scare you into saying something else, or convince you that cooperation is going to work out better for you than demanding to see a lawyer, you are a moron. It is not at all difficult to repeat four words.

actually the police have to release you to a parent of guardian if youre a minor, its against the law to hold a minor, but if his rents wont get him, now thats a different story lol

and if your parents dont consent then they get arrested and the problem is theirs, so since youre a minor the penalty on you is a slap on the wrist, especially since your record gets erased when u turn 18... charmander is right, cops can do whatever they want and they will find a way to arrest you, its their job...

Once again, stop talking out of your asses and stop thinking you know ANYTHING. If any of this happens, contact a lawyer. Not your parents, a lawyer. They'll even provide one for you. The lawyer can then contact your parents for you. But get the lawyer first because you kids are horrible at this.

It is not a policeman's job to arrest people. If they do so without reasonable and probable grounds, they will lose the arrest and any evidence secured thereby. Nor can they arrest your parents for refusing to comply with a search. It is not legal for the state or any of its agents to draw an inference of guilt from the assertion of a legal right, including the right to be secure against warrantless and unreasonable searches. The absolute most they are allowed to do is pat you down looking for a weapon, and can only remove anything hard. If your weed is in a plastic baggy, that don't count. If it's in a bag, they can ask you to put down the bag.

But none of that matters. None of it. Because you people aren't equipped to deal with these situations apparently. You don't know. So please, USE the most important right you have here, right to counsel, and get someone who DOES know and who does this for a living and paid a ton of money to be educated in this area to represent you before you do something stupid, because this thread is making me weep.

But seriously, this was a thread intended to tell kids who have trustworthy and understanding parents to explain the truth to them rather than having their parents find them blazed as hell coming home reeking of weed, with a bowl in one pocket and a slice in the other.  No need to lie to your parents if you know they are cool about it, only makes it harder when they find out you've been lieing for years.
