I was in your exact same situation a few weeks ago...
I was denied by 7 banks for a private loan. My parents can't afford to take out a PLUS loan, my dad is out of work until September and my mom makes an average middle class income. Finally, one bank pulled through, PNC (check them out if you haven't already). The worst part about it was that it took two weeks to get a decision, and I go to school in CO. My parents live in Philly. Very far distance from each other...if I would of moved out here and the shit hit the fan, I don't know what I would of done considering my loan is paying for the first 2 months rent on my apartment (once I get a job I'll be good)
Bottomline - you gotta be really rich or really poor to go to fucking college nowadays. The rich have their trust fund daddy's, the poor has their sympathetic scholarships. For us middle class folk that want to try and get an education...well good luck.
Hang in there bro. Do you get federal aid? I get $2500 in federal loans, which is nothing compared to my tuition, but it would of paid for community college classes. Take the minimum amount of credits you need to take to defer any loan payments and stay covered until health insurance.
