Saw this tonight at a screening [/claim].


Woody Harrelson fucking killed it and this movie had one of the best cameos ever (do NOT look at the cast list or you will ruin it). TONS of zombie killing with such sick effects.

Seriously, Zombieland was easily the funniest movie of the summer. Never seen such applause at the end of a film. Only downside is that there wasn't much footage in the credits.

Go see this once it hits theaters October 2nd. If you don't like it, I'll buy you a beer.

I've been pumped for this movie for a while now.  I don't think it looks like a shaun of the dead ripoff at all (one of my favorite movies)

Lots of great reviews on this film, and aside from some emo hipster douchebag from the Village Voice, it's sporting 13 for 13 on Rotten Tomatoes with a bunch of other similar reviews not yet posted. One of the few times I go see a movie twice.

Again, if you had a jelly bean-sized brain, you do NOT look at the cast list and you certainly do NOT spoil the cameo for anyone.

Its not the same people that did Adventureland is it?

this is a thought that ive been having. Why can't/don't zombies use weapons?

I saw this film dead sober and laughed my fucking ass off, but when has doing anything high been a bad thing?

And it's not by the same people as Adventureland ... just a coincidence. The director's previous works including writing for the Rob & Big show and "Shaun of the Dead" is definitely an influence here.



Some comparisons to Shaun:

- When Zombieland is finally released, I'm sure there will be a lot of people who will compare it to Shaun, but that's something that you shouldn't do. The only things they have in common are A) they have zombies, B) they are comedies, and C) they are highly entertaining, but in different ways.

- Zombieland may replace Shaun as the best zombie spoof.

- Like Shaun before it, Zombieland is an offbeat, unexpectedly sanguine entry to a niche genre.

- Zombieland apparently proves that Shaun didn't close the book on zombie humor

- Comparing it to Shaun or anything by Romero is kind of like comparing apples to oranges. This movie is uniquely American and has lots of "road trip" elements that make it stand out. That being said, I doubt anyone who likes the horror comedy genre will be even SLIGHTLY disappointed. This movie was hilarious and gory and a great buddy film all wrapped up in one. I loved Shaun, but this movie will show you that there is more than one way to make a zombie comedy. Still, it was so good I'm going back to see it after it opens. Guaranteed.

- Comparisons to Shaun are somewhat apt, as both movies are comedic takes on a horror subgenre, and director Ruben Fleischer was influenced by the Simon Pegg-Nick Frost movie. actually, in Romero's Day of the Dead the Zombie does infact learn how to use a gun after they realize that Zombies retain memory of the basic things they learned in life. Therefor, the military zombies are capable of weapon usage.

Zombieland is a comedy, foremost, with elements of horror in it. Believe me, you won't get scared while watching it, and there's probably about 1 or 2 queasy moments at best. Now that I think about it, sparking up beforehand would be a very wise thing to do.

Zombie movie to not watch while high (could have same effect as saw) - Dead Alive (braindead if you live in the southern hemi)

Since when was Shaun of the dead slapstick and a horror movie? I think you got it the wrong way around. Shaun is more of a quirky genreless film whereas Zombieland looks like a typical American blockbuster comedy + a few zombies.

Hey, those aren't my words but what other critics are saying. Personally, I tried watching Shaun once but I guess it wasn't in the right setting because I didn't think it was all that.

Somewhat like shaun of the dead but this looks more like a society living around zombies. Looks funny as hell.

Just saw the midnight showing....Fucking incredible. Absolutely hilarious. I went in mainly because we've been playing Nazi Zombies in COD for the past months, and I figured it was going to be terrible but it was amazing. Best movie I've seen this year. deffinetly recommend
