Alison Krauss & union station, the dillards, mountain heat, nitty gritty dirt band, sam bush, pine mountain railroad
a past roommate was huge into bluegrass and folk
fuck yeah! aug 31st i'll be at the show.
last time they were here they had an opener called the johnson family band (also out of the nd/minn area) that was fantastic. i almost liked their show better. they had this rowdy dude with a super gnar mountain man beard that sang a few songs, he sounded like a young tom waits, and they were such a high energy fun show.
idk if you can find these guys, but the puddle mountain ramblers are a pretty big local (slc) group that i've always liked. they opened for tbt too.
also, langhorne slim is really good. not "traditional" bluegrass but he fucking rocks. see him live if you can. so good.
a lot of the other suggestions above are great too. old crow medicine show is in a similar vein, they are really good and are a lot of fun to jam out on a harp to.
JOHN BUTLER TRIO!!!!!!!
cant believe he was left out
i love bluegrass.
astrograss, try that. they're not bad
Kenny & Amanda Smith Band
