im typing from edwards right now. personally, i would suggest avon or maybe eagle vail. and then work at beaver creek. i also heard that there is some reasonable places to live across i-70 from vail, near the post office. or employee housing

Like dude said above, look in eagle vail or avon.  Avon has some very fun bars!  Good amount of girls to take home.  I lived in a 3bd with two others and paid about $450/mo

pointlessly far away, if you work on one of the mountains you've got like a 30 minute total commute in the morning (drive from house to employee lot wherever, then take in-town bus to work)

Depends on your scene...I lived there for two years (just left to spend 6 months in NZ, then im moving right back there) and I liked it a ton.  Lots of cool bars (way more than the 3 in Avon) and a bit of an older crowd than Avon.  A lot more young professionals (Yahoo actually ran a story yesterday that it's #7 for most affluent singles in the US) so mostly people with real jobs not so much the seasonal group of lifties and foreigners.  You're only 10 minutes from Avon and 25 from Vail, I paid $600 a month for a 3bd that was super nice, had our own private country club thing with gym, indoor pool, tennis, etc as part of it free.  If you're gonna be working on the mountain and not making much money Edwards is not for you.  You're better off trying to get into Vail employee housing probably.  Don't live in Eagle, it's far away and although it is a lot cheaper you'll hate it because you have to drive home pretty far after apre-ski and the cops are everywhere taking people down for DUIs.  If you wont have a car you gotta get on the bus route, it's cold as fuck in the morning you dont want have to walk far.

Yeah I live in Edwards and have for bout a year um Im dishing $630 a month for my awesome place thats about as cheap as ur gunna get in the valley anymore, like the boys said eagle-vail has some sweet steals. I would work at beav if i were u and ski vail on days off, beav seems to pay more and a nicer resort all around def their park!

If I was coming to colorado for a year or so to ski bum I def wouldn't do it in the vail valley, no offense to the rest of the peeps in this thread.

I'd recomend if you want to work on the mtn. to get a job somewhere like Aspen and live down valley= easy commute. or get employee houseing=practicly on the hill. Aspen would provide you with more/better terrain than vail, less crowds, decent town scene.

Aspen has more/better terrain than Vail? Vail is the biggest single-mountain resort in North America. Plus, the terrain is epic if you know where to go. Plus, Aspen is like Beverly Hills in Colorado. You cant be serious.

copper kicks ass for both without a question, you just dont get the benefit of being able to ski 5 mountains like you get with the Vail/Beave/Breck/Keystone/A-Basin pass....woodward at copper looks fuckin badass too so def check that shit out

I leave my house at 6:30 in the morning and get to work on my hill just on time for 8 AM. half an hour would be AMAZING! but thats my opinion. i have no idea where this area is.
