Line Masterminds

So i'm thinking about either getting Masterminds or Chronics for next year and the masterminds looked super dope and are a lot cheaper than the chronics.  So i was wondering how they compare to the chronics and if i should get them or spend the extra money on chronics.

from what ive seen the mastermind is going to be a entry level park ski that CAN also perform all mountain but im not sure on specifics, we'd need a review.

but if your a more advanced park skier or just enjoy tearing up groomers, id shoot for the cronics

mastermind=cap chronic with a few mm more sidecut.  They won't have as nice edge hold IMO, I never feel cap skis have as nice edge hold or lay down a groomer turn the same as cap.  THey will be a bit lighter though.  The cap also makes them less durable on rails.  and like all line skis they will still chip alot.

but it mostly comes down to this: do you want the medium-stiff Chronic, or the less stiff mastermind?

I have found Line videos super persuasive though and they over claim.

I was wrong about the weight: 177 Mastermind=6.94lbs, 176 Chronic=6.34. how they got a cap ski to weigh .6lbs more a pair that is barelllly wider than a similar sidewall ski in a mystery to me.

the product vids do over claim but thats what makes people buy there prduct its smart if you ask me.

I wouldn't say they are trying to over claim. That video is geared towards the entry level park skier who wants an economical all around good park ski.  A rail skier wouldn't want them just because it says they grip rails well... they will get aftebangs or anthems which are geared towards jibbers. Just my thoughts.

Did they take components of the 06/07 invaders' graphics on put them on the Materminds? I remeber the blob things on the invaders.

same artist = similar style on both skis.  the development paragraphes for each ski explains the art

your mastermind weight is correct but the chronic weighs 8.14 lbs per pair. you were off by quite a lot so as i was saying the masterminds are better cuz theyre lighter and stightly fatter but imo cap skis are more durable in the sense that they look in better shape after a season. sidewalls skis look relatively thrashed after hard riding.

I don't want an entry level park ski and these will only be used for jumps will that matter make a difference?

i disagree its explains that the purpose is to have a lighter snappier version of the chronic that does great carvin and also is really fun in the park. id say its right in the middle of being a park ski and an all mountain ski.i just hope people dont get turned off by its marketing as a price point ski. its still gonna be super durable and fun

How can you say that cap skis don't have as good of edge hold as sidewall skis?
There is a lot more to edge hold then construction!

All of Pollard's skis have sidewalls, and I guarantee you that the cap construction prophet series all have better edge hold then any of pollards!

Just saying... a lot more then sidewall to gain edge hold!

dude masterminds look pretty dope flexier than the chronic for sure and are more park oriented but are also decent to take all mountain if your in the park more than the rest of the mountain get the masterminds if your all mountain and are not in the park a great deal chronics either way both pretty dope skis line always puts out a good product

no the chronic cryptonite(sp?) is a chronic with a 93 waist. id go for that if i were you. they look pretty nice

I think you got that backwards bud, usually you want more sidecut for all mountain and usually a price point ski si more all mountain oriented.  I would choose the chronic for park over the mastermind, but I would not shy away from either for using them everywhere.

^He was not talking about the chronic cryptonite.
