Replying to Zoom Lens Help - Nikon
D70s, Tamron 17-50 f/2.8, Nikon 70-210 4-5.6
Basically what it comes down to is I hate the Nikon Lens, its too bulky especially when zoomed, slow - almost useless inside with out cranking my iso, and I just havent gotten the clarity I want out of the lens.. Not sure what it is, but I can tell which lens I was shooting at when after I check them on the computer.
I do however love my Tamron, sometimes its slow to focus, or miss focuses, but I still love it. What I want is a zoom lens that I'll like just as much.
Im hoping for something along the lines of 28-200 or maybe even a 50-200, but I hate how restricted the 70-210 feels. I'm more leaning towards third party lens, as it will be cheaper, and everything I read says unless your a professional with a keen eye, you wont see a difference.
Right now, Im looking at the Sigma 28-200 3.5-5.6 or the Tamron 28-200 3.8/5.6 Af.
Suggestions on those, or ideas for other lenses is greatly appreciated.
Also does anyone know how high you can safely turn up the iso on a D70, Im getting grain at 640, and that seems kinda low.
