A question for t-shirt makers/screen printers.

Is there any way I can remove a screen print safely. I got tossed a really nice shirt from the Dakine rep. It's an American Apparel shirt that fits amazing. I just really don't like the screen print on it, but I'd still like to have just a plain black t-shirt that's soft and big and comfy.
So is there any way? I tried googling but it seemed all the people asking my question were dealing with a fresh screen print.
Thanks to anyone who helps.

nail polish remover works for small areas.

Hmmmm but could I just use a lot of nail polish remover? I'd say overall the print covers the area about the size of a salad plate.

You are most likely going to ruin the shirt. Those screens are printed to be as permanent as possible. So you have the choice of either having a shirt with a design you don't really like, or a very good chance of having an unwearable shirt

I like to be thrifty with my money. If there's an easy way to not spend $30, why wouldn't I do it?
If I can clean up the shirt in say 1/2 an hour. I save $30. So in essence I'm being paid $60/hr by simply not going out and buying another shirt I don't need.
