Making a pipe out of wooden co2 car?

 I was bored as hell the other day and i thought about how sick it would be if I made a pipe out of this co2 car I made in shop class a couple years ago. it's already got the bowl part already i just have to drill a hole and cut it down a bit. My question is if I have to use some sort of finish? +k for help

are you talking about a smoking pipe ? if u r then dont use a finish cause it will just bur off when you smoke and be terrible tasting

well I dont really know about a finish but I also dont want to burn the wood and be smoking the pipe itself

my pipe broke and I really dont wanna buy another one so I thought it would be cool if I made myself one

For a light-use pipe, wood makes a wonderful piece.

I suggest drilling a hole straight through to the bowl, then pound a brake line or a piece of non-treated steel through the hole.  You can keep the bowl itself wood, because if you construct it right, there will be a direct path from flame to metal, so you won't be torching wood.

Make sure the bowl is nice and deep to hold a fat cherry, the less times you have to draw a flame through, the less wood you will burn.

does it work fine when you smoke? like do you burn the wood at all and get a nasty taste?

i got rid of my wooden one it burned a hole through the bowl and the little path to my mouth.
