Wtf is with all theses kids working on cork 3s. Like its sucha stuiped trick unless your name is cr johnson or tanner hall. Notice how these pros actully learnt how to ski and rip in every way possible before working on cork 3s. Just some advice, unless u actully rip dont go out there and try to throw cork 3s because your just wasting your time. I just had to say that, but dont take me to seriously cause i really dont care if u listen to me or not

I'd say the slight downfall of skiing is people ripping on every person that wants to learn a new trick, whether it be a d-spin or a cork 3.
Grow up and go skiing, it's supposed to be fun.
it's all very exciting.

ya see as i said in the last line 'dont take me seriosuyl cause i dont really care what you do' means i wasnt ripping on anyone at all. More just telling people that if u dont actully have a insanely high air sence, there isnt very big chances that u are gonna succsede in actully throwing cork 3s. Im not ripping on anyone im just saying that theres alot of people out there trying to do somthing impossible for their skill level and should just go out there and rip

learning a cork 3 is progression, thats like saying someone is a pussy for learning a 7 or a 9

dont diss someone for trying something, even if its impossible for their skill level. if they want to go for it, props to them.

well cork 3s are way harder than cork 7 maybe even 9 so after can do like a cork 7 then go for cork 3 but i also think its gay if u go for it and cant even cork 7 cause cork 3s are hard, i tryed one and droped my shoulder just right but i just kept going to 5

What? I guess i can only speak from limited knowledge but this summer i learned corked 7s on my tramp and then with a lot more practice i learned corked 3s. I got it down really good and landed it (cork3) on snow, and i haven't really tried any cork 7s on snow, but are they really easier?

i guess i see where you guys are coming from, the idea of someone trying super technical tricks when they can't throw a smooth regular 3 or 180 but is a corked 3 really that technical? i guess i got the impression from somewhere or maybe i just assumed because it was less rotations than it was easier, oh well.

well saying that im not dissing was meant to say that i have no intent of making all the kids that try cork 3s look like idiots or poser. And im also not saying to stop doing cork 3s cause if u can do them thats sick but just sudgesting that maybe the kids that go out there and work there asses off for days and days and days so they can finaly take a picture and post it saying that they can do a 'real cork 3' When they could have spent the whole time actully progressing not just trying to make other people think they are cool. But i mean like i said i dont care its just somthing to think about... still do what tripleback_troy said, do what makes you happy.

you're basically a total moron. If anyone spends time learning any trick whatsoever, how is that not time well spent? There's no 'logical' order of what tricks people learn, it's all personal. John Lippiatt (on sas a lot) does some pretty sick cork 3s, but the kid has never done a cork 7/9 in his life, and he doesn't want to.
Basically do whatever the f* you want on the hill, and have fun. If you're trying to do something, you're making some sort of progress. So what I'm trying to say is that your whole post is worthless bitching about nothing. (that doesn't mean I'm trying to call you an asshole, just re-think what you said).

i'm real drunk, and just realized I probably insulted you a lot in that post. non-intentional. But really, let people try what tricks they want. Trying anything is better than not trying.

I think it's great to see kids working for something. Everybody has a trick they want to learn. Anytime 'kids that go out there and work their asses off for days and days and days' to stomp a new trick....it's fuckin great. I respect that so much. That's the nature of progression and you can't hate on people for that. That's just stupid.

he was almost right, but he couldnt think things through, why do cork 3s suck? they dont, what sucks is when kids who cant ski start trying throw normal threes, go corked on accident cause they look down, land back seat, and get props from their homeboys, but since this isnt a big deal im gonna go ahead and forget i even typed this

The guy who started this thread really put it badly but I think there might be a point in there somewhere even if he didn't mean it. The cork 3 is a 'style showcase' trick, like zero spins or slow 1's. Like in skateboarding or snowboarding, it's become a lot more fashionable to say your fave trick is a simple, modest one rather than a super tech one - this always happens, when progression goes apeshit and crazy tech, there's a group of 'soul boys' eg. Eric pollard or Jamie Thomas that try to bring back being dead basic. It's usually true because these tricks feel nice to do. The problem (which I think D-Spin was trying to talk about) is that since all the pros are following this trend of cleanliness, all the kids (who may not have the same style or trickbook) start doing it too, and it kind of stunts things overall.

Someone should start a thread on the 'soul boy' aspect. I think it set back skateboarding decades because all of a sudden all you were allowed to do was a big long lipslide and anything more tech was 'dirty' even if it was done perfectly and with total stability. It also becomes a cop-out for not learning new shit - if you can't flip-in, flip-out, that's okay, it's 'dirty' anyways. I might catch shit for this but I think this is why Pollard is allowed to have the same trickbook as most girls - he just has to do it a little bigger.

d spin from your first post it sounded like you were trying to say that kids shouldn't want to get better unless they get better first. I think the key here is to try the cork 3 or any trick for that matter, but don't forget that you should also work on actual skiing. however the ultamate goal should be to be the sickest all around skier, like cr or candide. they rip park and big mountain. progress every aspect of your skiing to progress the sport.

I also like the kids who can't do a 540 or a grab but can do 'cork 3s'. ie they whip a 360 off a lips and get all off axis in the air and land back seat and then come down and say 'that was a phat cork 3, i got those dialed'

Re: LesBainDouches post...
I love slow 1's. I agree with you, in a sense. That is my safety trick. I could do them all day. I think 7's look hack. Unless they're super slow but I have not the balls nor the terrain to go that big to slow a 720 down enough to, in my opinion, make it look good. So I'd rather just 180. My trick book is smaller then a fat hooker, but I think the most important thing is.... I still have fun! I don't see a lot of tricks I'd like to learn, that would feel better then throwing a big 180, or a corked 3, if I could.
Now, when it comes to videos, I'd rather watch a slow 180, or a corked 3 then a D-spin or huge 720... so I guess that allows me to go out and learn cork 360's or 180's. Can you see my point?
I have no urge to learn 720's, etc, because I think they look bad.
I liked your post, it was well-thought out, and made me think for a sec...

Really Really slow 1's and 3's look awesome from the back of the jump, really clean corked 3's look sweet, but yeah any idiot can go and throw a dirty 3 and say, ohh yeah that was a cork three, i dont count a cork three as being a cork three untill its really super clean.

theres nothing i hate more than seeing people do tricks that are absolutly perfect unless its in a comp or something, but when people go out and do the same thing all night that looks the exact same it makes me mad, so go out there, do stuff you cant cause thats how you learn

alright, heres the deal, what dspin is saying is completely self contradictory. you suck if you try to learn... makes no sense. its like at the gates of some terrain parks there might be a sign that says no beginners allowed. well if no beginners are allowed in the park then how does anyone get from being a beginner if they arent allowed to try. if thats the case then everyone stays a beginner n shit. so put that in ur pipe and smoke a looonnnngggg drag of it pussy

Also, I think some folk on here enjoy talking for talkings sake. Like myself. From this point on, instead of walking with steps, I'm gonna walk doing cork 3's down the street.

i dont think cork 3z r thta hard... its just diffeent but ne1 coudl go and do it, justy have to find a way of leanring hwo to throw it and i dont get why its such a big deal if people want to leanr it , i think im mnissing the point , is it becaused its not big enough? i mean if people want to try a new trick why not? i dunno if this is what the kid is sayin or getting at or whatever, but in my opinion (opinion=cannot be right or wrong) i think kids should learn how to actually ski first before attempting anything in the park, if for nothing besides their own and everyone else's safety.

haha, fuck that! cork 3's are like the hardest trick for me. They are super stylie and anyone who busts nice ones are damn good, but seriously, i can throw rodeos, cork 7's, switch rodeo's, etc, but it is a rare occasion when i stomp a cork 3. don't bag on that shit, its
