Replying to Is Weed Decriminalized in Canada?

Me and a couple of buddys felt like blazing at lunch at my work so we went behind Wal Mart and started smoking a blunt, mid sesh a cop pulls up and says, " is there weed in there?" , were not going to dig ourselves a grave cause we already think were in shit so we tell him that there is.
We talked for a little while after but anyways to my surprise he let us go... theres rumours that its been decriminalized and on Wikipedia it says it is.

My buddy told me aswell that the most a cop can do here in Canada is take it away, im thinking that this is actually true, but obviously with small amounts, i doubt youll get the cold shoulder from a cop with half a pound of grass on you.

Does anyone know anything about it being decrimanalized? Or are the cops in Ontario just really chill and leinient.
