How big should a park ski be?

i think ima pickup a pair of the 2010 afterbangs, out of curiousity is the measurment for park skis the same as regular skis as in should the ski be able chin to nose height? or should it be shorter/longer.

I like park skis to be as tall as I am.  I am 6 foot and my skis are 180 ish.  My pow skis are longer of course.

yeah. those would be perfect. or even a 181 if they come in that size and your an aggressive skier

biggest size is 177's, anyone know a good website to purchase skis from? alot of websites sell um but any perticular one that you've bought from and is good that carrys the afterbangs in 177

Im 5'4 and have 172s. if ur pretty good, then get them longer. I would proly say around ur hieght tho.

It really depends on how you want them to handle.

Shorter = less swing weight, less support
Longer = more stability

If you're going to be doing lots of rails/butters, you are going to want the ski to be either short or soft (or both for maximum effect).

If you're going to be hitting huge jumps, you're going to want a longer/stiffer ski (or both!)

I personally like them long with medium/stiff flex, but only because I seldom ever hit rails.

well they don't make skis tall enough for lanky fucks such as myself

i'm 6'5, and since the tallest they make is the 177, i guess i'm goin with that

Haha I know what you mean.  Since they make a 155, 166, and 177, they sho8uld make a 188 haha.  I bet people would buy them.  I am 5'11"ish 150lb and I ski 181 chronics.  I could go longer.  e

as tall as you my friend, im 5-8ish or 5-9ish so and i rock the 174's.......and IMO longer skis are way more steezy than short skis.

I know a kid who is 5'4" and skis 155's it looks pretty silly. im 5'8" and i have 180s and they curl right over my head, and they feel perfecto.

Yeah I'm at 6'3 and 181 isn't enough for me, I could go like 185.  Volkl does 185 I think but someone told me they had a pair and they measured the same as his 181 Armadas.

Im 5'5"(give or take) and ride center mount 171 invaders, they are  a bit taller than me but nothing too annoying.

getboards.com  inccredddibly sick. they have alot of stuff from this year and earlier years. and they have these sick little deals every now and then, like throwing in bindings with the ski at the same price as the ski was.   all i do is park and my skis match my height. im 5 11 or 6 and im rockin 180s. everythings a different challenge though.  go a little bigger than you first think you need if your still a growing boy.

Id restrain from buying from getboards if i were you, yes they do have some pretty good deals buy maannnyy manny members have had bad experiences with the online store. I cant say i have because i have never bought from there but im not taking any chances.

since your thinking of going with the afterbangs which are 100% symmetrical they ride a little bit shorter than most skis if you get them mounted at dead center which i'm assuming you are. therefor you should get a little bigger than normal. im 5'6", 145lbs and i ride a 171 invader which comes a little bit above my head.
