Anyone know much about nitro rc engines?

so, I just dropped a new engine in my nitro t-maxx and went to start it to break it in. the tmaxx uses an easystart motor to turn the engine to start it and it would crank the engine right untill the engine sparked then lock up. I took out the glowplug and cycled the engine then tried again and it did the same thing a few times.
any ideas as to what might be causing this?
(sorry for a difficult paragraph to read but I typed this on my iPod)

if you spend that much money on a child's toy that's been upgraded, you should hate yourself.
