Tahoe baby

Im hittin up tahoe for the second time this winter and last time i went we only rode heavenly and squaw, which were both sick. squaw was an hour bus ride, with a better park than heavenly, so im willing to travel, what other bomb parks are there, ive heard of northstar and kirkwood, and maybe some reccomendations to any bowls or canyons

Alpine Meadows has sick jumps, Northstar is good, Sierra is decent, Boreal has tons of rails

Try the regional forums.  Don't stay in South lake next time.  The only good park in South Lake is Sierra.  Stay at like Kings Beach, Truckee, Incline, etc.  The best three parks in Tahoe are probably: Northstar, Squaw, and Sierra.  I've heard that Alpine has some sweet jump lines and they always build a HUGE Spring kicker.  Northstar always seemed to be a lot more jibs and rails than jumps.  Squaw has some sick jump lines and good jibs.  Squaw is my favorite park in Tahoe, short life lines, only park riders ride the park chair, Northstar is pretty crowded, but they have a sweet park, I still like Squaw's park better though.  I think you could probably put Alpine and Sierra at a tie, but I have never been to those resorts.  If you want park, don't go to Heavenly, Rose, Diamond peak, Kirkwood, Homewood, etc.  I did have a really fun time in Diamond's park last time I went.  I always forget that Boreal is there.  Check out Boreal for some more sweet park.  Lots of jibs there and night skiing.  Squaw also has night skiing.  For terrain, stay away from Northstar and Boreal, I've heard that Heavenly is pretty flat too.  For good terrain go to Alpine, Squaw, and Kirkwood.  Have fun man.  Tahoe has just about everything.

thanks but we already planned on renting a ballin condo in lakeland village, room 619 lol prolly the nicest house ive ever been in right on the lake and we build a little park in the backyard at night hah

Nice.  I always go with my friend, whose Dad owns a private residence/timeshare thing, and it is right on the lake.  We always get a little park going and now that we built a few rails and a box it is going to be super fun.  It's a really nice place though.  I heard it was close to a mil. just for him to join the place though.  That's how it is when you are a lawyer though.

yea south lake fucking sucks squaw and alpine are nice sierra is kinda out of the way (compared to squaw and northstar and alpine) but thats if your staying in north lake

shit man you got it set lol, we just set up picnic tables, shopping carts ,(that we take from other peoples condos or we find under the snow), roof drops because its a 3 story place so we have good access, they also have some roofs that go all the way to the ground so we had some pretty legit kickers, kids from a jesus camp were shredding with us heh

Oh sweet.  My friend has to go and get an old lawnmower from his grandma's house and then we are going to build a tow in and then it will hlp so much, we will be able to actually make some sweet stuff, good jumps, rails, etc.

don't listen to these clowns South Lake is legit. Sierra has sick pillows and parks, Heavenly has a decent park and lots of hidden powder everywhere, and Kirkwood is the place to be on a pow day. The people that talk shit on SLT are people that grow up in North Lake and there just little bitches that still havent grown up.. And south lake has friendly people

Think I'm going to drive up to Tahoe for my 21st birthday.  How far between Squaw and the casinos?  at night I have to pay for the trip playing blackjack.  Are there cheap ass motels up there?

its about half hour - 45 min drive. dont get wasted at the casinos if you have to drive back to squaw at night. some of the roads are a bit sketchy with cliffs on both sides. fun to drive on though.

 i went there last spring and i stayed at the heavenly inn i think, it was like 5 min walk from the heavenly gondola, we payed 40$ per night for a room with 2queen beds, so if youre 4, 10$ per night= pretty fuckin cvheap

I agree with ya here. Squaw is the best resort in Tahoe hands down but as far as parks and sick terrain Kirkwood Sierra and Heavenly all have good stuff. The best parks are Northstar, but then you have to deal with all the tourists, squaw and sierra.

dude sugar bowl is one of my favorite resorts and superunderrated, i lived in reno for  years and had passes to alpine, northstar, and sierra and sugar bowl still remains my fave, they got a sick park crew, no crowds, plenty of cliffs and cheap beer

Just a quick comment. . .

Driving from Squaw to SLT- it's a slow haul on the west side of the lake, and keep in mind that during the winter it is sometimes closed. The stretch around Emerald Bay is sketchy. You may have to go the long away around the lake to get back if the weather is bad.

squaw is the best resort there is period IMO got everything crazy pow and tons of cliffs and a super sick park with awesome jumps

If you're in south lake just get a Heavenly Pass, besides the fact that its gaper central it does have the best views of any resort I've ever been to and skiing to match. The park is decent, at least the last time I went.

It sounds to me like the place is a sick house on the lake, not just your normal condo timeshare deal.  I could be wrong, the poster would no for sure.

That being said, I agree with you.  1 million might not buy a mansion right on the lake, but it will buy a sick house close to the lake which would be all yours.

If your going to ride north lake and your staying in SLT , it would be better to just go ahead and stay in Reno. closer and cheaper, not to mention less sketchy.  If anything I would stay in North lake or truckee.  South lake sucks
