Glaciers to ski down in rockies?

my brother, his friend  and i are planning to hike up a glacier and hopefully ski down somewhere around banff/ jasper. we are wondering if you can hike up and ski down somewhere in the columbia icefield?

i went to the columbia icefields.

it was fucking icy. everywhere. i can't imagine trying to ski on it.

Hmmm, sounds like a good idea, I mean its probably pretty safe with unstable wet snowpack and expanding glacier ice, therefore crevasse presence. I'm sure you'll be alright.

Seriously though, if you're going to do this you had better know what the fuck you're doing, or you could very well get owned by the mountain. Be careful.

haha ok guys doesnt look like a good idea then. i skied on the blackcomb glacier in the summer so i was wondering if there were any patches of snow that you could ski on. i saw a thread here a while a go of people climbing/ skiing somewhere around sunshine village so it looked like a good idea.

glacier does not equal left over snow. Both very different. Dont be messing around on glaciers unless you know your shit.

Check out Parkers ridge about 20mins before the Glacier, good snow in the summer and fun terrain for building hits.
