Another comparison thread.. Suspect VS. Dumont?

im looking at buying either the 08/09 Suspect or the 08/09 dumont. i know theres been a lot of talk of the suspects breaking and everything, but i havent really heard anything bad about the dumonts. anyone who has used these skis, whats the difference, and do the dumonts hold up better?

Avoid Suspects like the plague man they break so easily and I hear Salomon is kinda bitchy about replacing them. I'd recomend getting skis from a brand like Armada or Line, but thats just me...

Just going to give my 2 cents here.

I have just finished with doing months and months and months of research on 2008/2009 non symmetrical park skis.

I ended up going with the ar6. It is a little more expensive, but from what ive heard, its practically the best you can get for a non symmetrical, medium to stiff flex park ski, that can still be able to be taken out of the park for some all mountain ripping. I'd look in to it if you have the extra money. (i have not skiied it yet, its sitting in my room for next season)

I just wouldnt risk going with dumonts or salomons...however, ive heard that they have fixed the bugs with the ones that were produced after january of this year, so if you have your heart set on them, go for it. but if you break em, good luck with trying to get them warrantied.

Go with the dumont. They are very stiff just heads up on that, but nice skis overall.

Dumont=Suspect with double edge armour.  There are less pairs out so there are less problems.  The edge armour hurt Suspects, so double edge armour couldn't help.  Either way they are a good ski, just make sure to get a pair at a shop to look it over alot first.  Somebody at Whistler was on Dumonts(old guy) with the edge slowly coming into the ski with more and more skiing(hard to explain, one edge underfoot was peeling inward).  But Dumont graphic is better, so get that if price is similar.

I don't know about the 08-09 ones but i tryed on the 09-10 ones.

The suspects were really nice, i would really recommend those, the only difference i noticed with the Dumont is that there a lot heavier. It depends what you really want man

because of a demo binding that is heavier I am guessing?  because the difference is double edge armour, and I don't think a strong string will make a ski noticably heavier.
