Why the fuck is my party turning this debate into whether or not to implement health care reform!?
I know why they are doing it, but why?! They're stiffly opposing it to create a larger anti-Democrat base to gain power over the now dominant Democrats but why?!
I can see this having 2 outcomes:
1. Everyone realizes the GOP is flat out lying, and even more mistrust will be created against the Republican party.
2. The Republicans take this one but 10-15 years down the road we're gonna have a healthcare related crisis and everyone will obviously blame the Republicans, cuz thats the cool thing to do.
Is Fox News et al. really that retarded? Why on earth would you spread such idiotic ideas to further dilute the intelligence in this country?! Death Panels?! Are you fucking serious?! You would rather have private ensurers' whose primary motivation is earning profit deny you of healthcare because of any and everything that might presidpose you to a medical condition, or a "bureaucrat" aided by doctors (albeit mediocre/defunct ones) who probably suffers from severe inefficiency but at the least has the satisfaction of his/her constituents as his/her primary motivation?
Here is why you should you prefer privatized firms over public services: Public services have mandatory payment despite purchase/utilization/participation in the form of taxes and are run by unaccountable bureaucrats thus greatly diminishing the motivation to improve product/customer service/etc. and to increase efficiency. In the private sector, time is money, and efficiency gives more time and reduces cost, giving more money. Better products sell better so since a firms only goal is to generate profit, its sole mission is to improve efficiency and/or products.
But now lets take a look at the insurance sector. Insurance is an anomolie because it is effectively gambling. Therefore, the worse the product is, the more profit the firm generates. In otherwords, greater efficiency in the insurance market means less coverage or higher prices. Why not increase both? Since its only goal is to increase profit, insurance companies are looking to cut costs in (read: coverage) and increase profit (read: prices). As you can see, insurance, among a few others, is a market that is directly negatively affected by privitization.
Now with something as important as healthcare, where getting diseases is not always our fault, I believe that a public option that drives costs down should exist.
I know, I know, Me, jumister5889, Nazi, Facist, Hitler-lover, right wing pundit/idiot, w/e believes we should have a public option?! YES!
However, I do not support Obama's current plan at all! He's trying to ram it through the houses using his partisan dominance and not really giving a shit about the loyal opposition. That for one, is fairly unacceptable in my opinion, for a President who claims to be bipartisan and entire campaign was predicated upon finding mediums. Its not a viable option yet with 1,300 pages of redtape and many provision that Americans would not support such as provisions keeping lobbying pharmeceutical companies onboard.
I feel however, given massive support and Republican cooperation, we can come to a very good option and finally once and for all we can tell those French and Canadians to shut the fuck up.
But the grassroots have to be there. You should explain to your parents that a public option should be the path we take, though not the current one. While you're at it, tell your parents to write their congressmen to legalize weed too.
Sparknotes:
1.Privitization is great for many things, but for the anomoly of Insurance, it actually directly motivates Insurance companies to give pricier, worse coverage.
2.A public option with supported provisions should be discussed over a long period of time. Not the current plan of butt fucking the House and Senate with Obama's huge Democratic black cock.
3.Legalize Weed.
