Should I wax my skis before seshing on my backyard jib? Will it protect them?
agreed
I agree with using old skis...but I can only afford one pair and I dont have old ones ( just got my first pair )
i would do like the others have said then and wax those.
Keep an eye out for Skis at garage sales or even craigslist and you might me able to pick up a dirt cheap pair of rock skis to use on your jib.
Happy jibbing :: ))
or on here in the buy/sell forum.
i see skis that would be perfect at salvation army type places all the time with bindings. even if the bindings aren't sized up right, this is a good way for you to learn how to do that stuff yourself anyway. all you need is a powerdrill and some masking tape.
even though you won't look as badass, it will save your good skis for the snow months.
if you really want twin tips and you can't find a rock pair, you can also bend your own ghetto twins like we did when the 1080's came out and we couldn't afford new skis.
there are a lot of threads on here (or at least there used to be) about how to mount your own bindings, bend your own twin tips, etc..., try the searchbar if you decide to go that route (i'm not being a dick, that is just a good resource for this stuff)
good luck.
