If society wasn't so fucked up, this wouldn't be a big deal what so ever. A gun is a tool, like any other tool. You think twice to see someone walking around with a hammer on their belt, and say, well obviously he plans to hit someone with that hammer. The point is that, if every time someone went to misuse their gun they got smoked by 6 bystanders, we'd live in a society with a lot less fucked up shit. The problem is that we don't, people have been raised to be terrified of the mere presence of a gun, because the media has beaten it into their heads that everyone is a sociopath that is out to get them.
This guy is just eccentric, maybe kind of a nutter, but fascism in this country is real, and it is coming. That is for certain. So in that context, he's not that crazy. Just by comparison to most of the sheep that pass for human beings these days, he's pretty out there.
I'm not reading the 2nd two pages here, because obviously this thread went downhill from the start...
All I have to say is I own a gun, I'm not afraid to use it, but i'm not stupid enough to draw attention to myself by carrying my Jericho into a situation that is supposed to be peaceful. If you're going to act in a peaceful manner during a peaceful situation, why on earth would you carry a weapon with you to such an event? There is no logic here.
Yeah.. I understand. Right to keep and bear arms... Doesnt mean you should do it all the time... Even if you're from New Hampshire and are somehow oh so different from the rest of the country...
On a sidenote, I think Chris Matthews got way too hyper over this... He overreacted here.
So does the constitution protect the right to "idiotically flaunt your weapon at inappropriate times" ?
Jefferson would've shot that mother fucker dead for misquoting him... IMO
