That's my home mountain. It's sick, especially the bowl and the south side. I've never been anywhere else with a true bowl like that, where you can drop 20'+ off the cornice, touch down like you barely left the ground, and then lose what feels like a ton of speed in a matter of seconds when you reach the bottom. I'd love to see some pros session 4th chute. I was always hoping Pep would take a camera crew back there and throw down off the cornices. Also, I wish footage existed of Chris Collins and Steve Bednar sessioning the bowl back around 1998 or 1999. They tore up Mt. Ashland for a year before heading out to Utah and making it big (at least in Chris's case).
The only bummer about Mt. A is the lack of spots to build decent kickers or hips. Although you can build aerials kickers out of the 10 ft. + snowbank in the second parking lot.

Ive had some of my best days ever on the backside and bowls of Ashland. A few years ago it dumped for 4 days straight, every day just straight blower pow all day long, and when that was tracked we built a huge kicker off the cat track that leads back from the backside. No crowds, cool locals, sweet terrain. Such a sick little resort if you can hit it on the right days!
