and is the only thing new on this years model the rubber in the toe?
I just want to clarify this for you guys about the SPk Pro Model for this year.
The SPK Pro Model has in fact a few changes to it for this year.
SPK PRO MODEL 2009 SPECS:
Here are the specs for all of you:
Sizes Range: 25.0- 29.5
Flex: 110
Power Strap: 55 mm
Toe Box: Rubber to absorb backseat afterbang style landings
Shell & Cuff: Walkable Sole, Leather finishing, space frame, V Last technology for better ankle lock performance
Cushioning Systems: 2-density heel cushioning system, SCS, extra paddign in the spoiler for calf cushioning, shin pads to protect against shin splints.
Liner: My Custom Fit Pro with quicklace system and oversized loop, includes neoprene toe box for extra padding
2008 SPK Pro Model specs
Size Range: 25-29.5
Flex: 110
Toe Box: No padding
Shell and cuff: Same
Cushioning system: 3D shock absorber in heal area
Liner: My Custom Fit Pro with kevlar quicklace system and oversized loop without neoprene toe box
So yes to anwser yoru question the difference is the Neoprene Toe Box and rubber in the toe for deep landings.

^^ what alot of people do with boots in general if they have thsi problem and can't warranty them because of not having reciepts or proof of purchase is to invest in a rivet gun and pump 2 into the top with washers.
This sometimes happens with boots when they are always wet and not done up properly at the end of each day.
