Mounting old k2 madien ak 179

i searched this and did't find too much.
So I have owned a pair of these skis for a couple of years mounted at +4. Once in a while the tail felt akward. But they need new bindings, I am condsidering mounting them +6 or center, hoping that they would ski better switch.
Would the 2 or 3 centimeters make much of a difference in terms of both backwards and forwards skiing ability?
Would they dive too much in pow?
Or are they just a tough ski to ski switch and mounting them that close to center would mess them up?
Thanks NS

note centre on these skis is probably further forward than you think. To start off get a tape measure and measure tip to tail. I think you'll find centre is further forward than "Core centre" which is marked on the ski around +7cm. I could be wrong though.
I would remount them 2cm back from true centre which if my theory is correct could be around +10cm a significant jump forward.
Oh yeah and Maidens are money on or around centre, just remember you will give up some of the charging, but a remount can breathe life into an otherwise dull ski.
Try it, you can always remount em again.

just make sure you measure out centre and work from there.

I actually liked them mounted a little back from true center, at -3 from true (I think). Forward caused really imbalanced riding, -3 was the perfect blend of still rocking switch and being an ATV on any snow condition.

well said cause this couldn't be more true. Last year i still did love my madens, but they certainly weren't my favorite every day ski, strictly pow. This year i remounted them to 3 back from true center, drastically farther up than my previous mount, and have but soooo many days on em. They killed in powder, groomers, just fucking around in general, and i actually charged some shit on them at times, but learned the hard way that they do have a breaking point when it comes to speed, its just hard to reach. So i would highly reccomend 2 or 3 back from center mount aswell.

Came in to say this, but Rowen killed it first. Damn you and your smooth talking ways.
Don't center them if you want to ski pow on them. Do center them if you want really fat floppy park skis. That'd be fun in spring slush. But yes, they will overthehandlebars if you ski anything remotely steep and deep on them at centre.

I decided to mount them at core center (about 7.5) from midsole about 3/5 from true center. Thanks everyone.
All times are Eastern (-5)
